OK, so I'm about to finish my bag off and get a hybrid or 2. All of my woods have graphite shafts, all of my irons have steel. Since the hybrid is a mix of the 2, I'm not sure which one to get for it. I can get a nice TT steel shaft in it much cheaper, but don't mind spending a little more to get a nice graphite shaft either. What are you guy's opinions on this?

I like graphite for hybrids.  One of the reasons I went with a hybrid is because I can hit it higher and longer than a long iron.  Getting a steel shaft in one seemed counter productive to that effort.

+1 Completely agree.

Graphite because its lighter and will give you more clubhead speed.

To add a contrasting viewpoint, I ended up swapping out the graphite shafts for matching steel shafts with the rest of my irons.  The lofts on my 3i and 4i were the same as the 3H and 4H so I matched the shaft lengths and swingweights into the set as well.  So basically they ended up being a drop in replacement and I was really happy with them.  I found them much more accurate that way.  Sure a bit of distance was lost because the shafts were shorter, but I'll take more accurate any day.

I voted for steel. I prefer a heavier shaft as well and don't think there's been a distance loss on average because my ball flight is more consistent. I have more confidence when I want to swing a bit harder. A pricier graphite shaft might be great, but I'm not interested in experimenting and the stock stiff graphite shafts didn't feel right at all.

    • Day 446 - 2025-12-20 Woke up early and got some swings in before teaching putting all day. Looking forward to doing the same tomorrow.
    • It's miles better, though.
    • Went up to Erie for a lesson. I still need to work on how I shift my weight into my right leg and turn into the right leg. I extend it too much and externally rotate it too much. That all causes me to over rotate the hips and cause weight shift issues in the downswing. I need to feel like my right leg gains flex (it doesn’t), and my knee cap faces forward. The right hip sinks back and right. I need a need a ton more internal rotation. I still have some right elbow issues in the backswing. The path is better, but too much right elbow bend. I need to maintain width in the right elbow and let my right shoulder retract more, let’s say at A3, which helps keep that right arm extended.
    • Day 130 12-20 Today was just swinging what i had and go from there. Did focus on getting to lead side. Recorded swings for lesson  and hit real balls.
