This is really a good story. Keegan Bradley talks about living in a trailer park with his dad after his parents separated and how he had a great childhood! He says it was:

one of the most fun times in his life

For someone to go through a lot of hardship and still make a name for themselves is outstanding!  I bet Keegan didn't have an 11k dollar simulator in that trailer!

Quote:

“It was like something out of a movie. My dad is 6’4”, he’s taller than me, and we were living in this trailer with bunk beds," Bradley told Golf Magazine. "He slept on the bottom bunk. I slept on the kitchen table—the table folded down and had cushions; that was my bed.”

My mom gets very sad when I talk about it, because she thinks it makes it sound like I had a bad childhood. So for a while I stopped talking about it. But I really had an unbelievable childhood,” Bradley told Golf Magazine. “I’m actually, in a weird way, proud of those days. I try to tell her, ‘Mom, it’s a cool story. The story of me growing up in Vermont and skiing, people don’t care about that. It’s the trailer park that people want to hear about.'

I wonder if his dad would contribute the trailer life to golf being too darn expensive?

Wow, interesting story. I never knew this about him.  Now I just need him to win the British Open at -10 so I can win the prediction contest.

I'm sure Heath Slocum, Boo Weekley and Bubba Watson have some great stories of growing up in the pan handle of Florida. It's not where you're from it's what you become....

I fully disagree with the statement made about golf being priced to weed out trash. I have met a TON of wealthy people that are pure trash and a TON of non wealthy people that were great people and became very accomplished golfers, hockey players, soccer players, tennis player, etc. In my opinion the balance of your checking or savings account doesn't indicate trash or class.

    • Day 297: putted for about 25 minutes, working on 30 foot putts. Then went and hit balls for about an hour, just focused on getting the ball to go where I want it. Not my best session, but figured it out better at the end.
    • I do use a 7 wood. Love it! Do have a specific question about 7 woods?
    • @DrizZzY does. 😄
    • does anybody still use a 7 wood? if not what do you use instead>
    • Day (2 May 24) - somehow I missed posting both Tues and Weds practice sessions - so the streak ends and a new one begins…. Focus today was on ball first contact using the Divot Board for reference.   Worked with 7i, 9i and GW hitting hard foam balls.  Started hap hazardly and then settled back into my pre-shot setup.  Much more consistent in the latter.
