As a result, I lost 5 balls from the tee ball on one hole and shot the worst round I've shot in a long time.

I've worked and worked to make it go away and I gave up about a month ago, learned how to place my shots with it and played much better than I ever have.

Today, I stepped up to the tee on the 6th hole, drove straight into the woods to the left of the fairway. Repeated this 4 times with a very puzzled look on my face with my partner laughing so hard I thought he might puke. I went ahead and lined up the shot the proper way and drove it straight down the fairway. Now I'm even more confused because I changed nothing in my swing intentionally and so I have no idea when it will magically appear again.

This game perplexes me to no end.

It happens. Not going to give any advice but I will say it happens to me. I typically move the ball left to right and I've had rounds where everything went left and not just a little bit but over in the next fairway left. Next time out usual ball flight resumed.
