I use to be very consistent with my irons, Always withing 5 yards down to the 6 iron. However recently I have a lot of fades and push shots. I always use to have a tight little draw and I am confused on what I am doing. I have attached a video. Hopefully some of you can have an idea and help me.

Here is the video, when I use to hit all my shots very crisp through the ball. Straight or little draw. Any ideas?

Thanks

Any ideas, sometimes I have a very strong pull as well. I can not seem to figure it out. I have always relied on my irons. Am I coming across the ball. In my second video I feel like my follow through is a straight path through the ball, as the first video I may be coming across the ball.

I am no expert but I am gonna throw in my .02

If you are fighting a slice and a pull then I imagine that is caused by an over the top swing.

If face is open with this path then you would be hitting a fade/slice while if you have the face square to the swing path it would be a pull. You would almost never see a draw if your path was out to in.

Maybe concentrate on swinging more in to out.

The ball position in the top video looks like it's too close to your body. It might be a different club or crooked camera, but try to have the space the width of a hand or so between your body and the butt of the club. Hard to hit a draw with your hands pulled in like that unless you put it way back in the stance, which isn't useful on most shots. On the other hand, it's easy to come across, resulting in pulls and slices.

I'm not much help on the rest of your swing but that's Occam's razor and a likely cause.

And don't practice swinging in a space that small; you could throw off your setup. You can't play good golf if you don't set up properly.

Your top video could be misleading because you aren't actually hitting a ball. But, comparing the two swings, you are not turning through the ball as you were previously. I've drawn a few lines to illustrate this. Hopefully this helps and maybe someone better qualified to help will chime in here as how to fix it. These 2 pics were both right before impact.

Thank you for the input that's true I don't think I'm turning through the ball. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to practice this. I feel like I'm sliding my hips instead of turning through. Please let me know if any drills if possible thank you. Also, I don't feel as I my hands are rotating through the swing.

The one thing that really stands out from the first swing to the second is your top of the backswing position. In the second swing when you are hitting good you are completing the backswing in a parallel position to your target line. In the first one you are most definitely not completing the backswing and looks like the club is laid off.Really check and see if you have changed something in your setup from the first to the second swing.

    • Day 23: weird day, and only had a little bit of time. Just did mirror work again, working on where the elbow is in the downswing
    • I flipped over to this tonight and thoroughly enjoyed it. Anyone else watch? I picked it up during the golf relay event, but seeing these pros out having fun in alternative events was refreshing and entertaining. I’m sure it will be on in reruns in the next week or so, so I won’t spoil the outcome. Im curious what others thought of it. I’m recording it’s later airing to see the beginning.
    • Day 443 - 2025-12-17 Made a few swings in testing some things out at another academy. Might pop up on someone else's podcast in a few weeks.
    • Day 37 (17 Dec 25) - nine hole round with my good friend.  We got paired up with a couple of the men’s group regulars as part of their shootout.  Started off with a wonderful quad bogie and then a dbl on three to be six over thru three holes.  Game went 180° over the next five as I shot one under (including a chip in birdie on hole six and four up and down 1 putt pars) for a net finish of five over. What could have been a really tough nine became a solid finish due to staying in the moment and not checking out.  Great day in course management and keeping perspective .
    • Day 127 12-17 Backswing and flow practice. Took advantage of the 60 degeee weather(it was 20 degrees Sunday)
