A1 is address.  A2 is when the shaft of the club is parallel to the ground on the backswing.  Below is the shots I took of your swing on 8-17 compared to Adam Scott - and then compared to your video from today 8-24.  You can see your taking your club from start-up on plane better.  But you should really focus on the moves of getting from A2 to A3.

Here is how your club looks at A3 compared to Adam Scott (the model)....  You can see that your club shaft is flat.

Checkout this thread - as there is another golfer Billy who I just provided some similar information on how to correct the left arm / wrist from rolling at A3.  And how to get the club more vertical...

Awards, Achievements, and Accolades

Possibly my last post on this, but a few videos to illustrate what i've been saying.  This guy on youtube has done some interesting videos on the backswing, and the different options for it.

These first two are the sort of backswing models I am being taught, my pros preference for me being the first (apparently it's easier for the amateur, a view shared by the uploader of the video on youtube):

The next backswing option does allow the clubhead to go a little inside the hands and the shaft to go a tad under the right forearm (though it doesn't get nearly as flat as ayouden's is getting at about hip height):

Actually, Els and Rose's swings look more like the first 2 backswing videos here (which i expected of Els, given his history with Leadbetter):

    • That’s a pre Sunday leaderboard I can like.
    • The best was Tommy Gainey in the prostitution sting a few years ago. Now that was funny.
    • Played Musgrove Mill GC today. 72.3/155. First round in 4 weeks and shot 44-39. 2 triple bogies on the front and horseshoed 4 putts today. Overall, 10 fairways, 8 GIR and 31 putts.  Set a goal today to par the 3 toughest holes (4, 18 and 9) and birdie 10 or 12 (which I have never birdied). Parred 4, 9 and birdied 10. Crushed my drive on 18 and had 139 left, but in casual water. Dropped back a little ways and took an extra club. Hit my 8-iron well but it came up short. Bunker shot from wet sand left me an 18’ for my goal. Read the break well but perhaps an inch too much break, and a touch heavy on the speed. Ball circled the hole 270* and tapped in for a bogey. Handicap dropped 0.1.

    • I’m sad that no player got arrested this morning. It should be a feature now for every tournament.
