Mac users, here's my plan. Anything I missed?

Delete files taking up space I don't need.

Verify Disk

Run the latest software updates

Make TM backup (105gb HD - how much should I partition for it? 150gb? I have 500gb left on the external)

Download ML

Copy Installer

Install ML

Maybe I live dangerously, but I have a TM backup always running, and a cron job that repairs permissions at night, so I just download and run the installer.

You can never be too careful... except you'll end up wasting a lot of time. :)

How large do you think the partition should be? 110gb HD, I'd guess 50gb of data, max, so 150gb should be pretty generous, no?

And should something go catastrophically wrong with Mountain Lion, the TM backup will let me roll back to Snow Leopard, right?

You're not running Lion?

I like my Time Machine to be about 1.5x as big as the drive(s) it's backing up.
