PLEASE HELP, SERIOUSLY FRUSTRATED!

this year i have played the best golf of my life, and yet i cant keep anything consistant.

new problem: every club i have hits the ball with the SAME trajectory. you can call bullshit if you want but my AW has the trajectory of almost exactly what my 4 iron used to produce resulting in a ball hit 20 yards off the ground for 130 yards.. huge divots sometimes as well. im taking 3 inchs deep 4 inchs long 4 inchs wide. GOD DAMN CRATOR!

now the ball goes straight but it has: no spin( top spin if any), height, distance, etc. its funny because this is the first year i've hit in the high to mid eighties and now i just want to quit. my 7 iron used to give me like 80 to 100 yards of loft and about 155 yards distance when struck cleanly, and now its around 10 yards loft and 190 ish yards. I cant even hit my driver because its just a grounder even though i make good contact with the ball. i used to hit my 5 wood 195 with about 70 yards of loft, and now it goes farther and lower than my 3 wood used too..

I have found i can open my club face to a fade w. my higher irons( 7 8 9 Aw Pw Sw) but if i do it w. anything below its just a slice.

so the results of the lower trajectory are i miss way long with my higher irons and way short with my lower irons. it has to be one of the most frustrating things i've stumbled on.

i've also tried almost everything: moving it up in stance, back in stance, farther outside, closer to my body, etc, and to no avail. i actually havent gone out in weeks when i was going golfing every single gay for months before this.

i really dont want to have to put my new taylor made burner clubs away either i bought them this year, which seems like a damn shame right about now..

Has anyone ever heard of something like this....? i know i havent, and apparently google hasn't either.

If your taking that big a of a divot your hitting down on the ball too much thus delofting the club. example if your 7 iron used to be 155 yrds and you are now  hitting it 195 the face angle is steeper so in essence you made your 7 iron a 4 iron. Go to the range and practice trying to pick the ball off the ground instead of taking such a big divot. Plus it sounds like you maybe locking your wrists and not properly following through.

being a beginner, I'm going to point a possibility and somebody better than me can tell me to STFU or maybe say I'm on point.

You didn't mention how long you've been hitting like this, but the way it's written, I'm assuming you just started hitting this way this year. Could it be the new clubs he got this year? I know its not the answer OP wants, I'm just throwing ideas out there.

You must find a way to see your swing. Get some video even if it just a buddy standing there. If you don't want to do that, get someone who knows what your good swing looks like to watch you and tell you what you are doing compared to what you used to do.

What you are doing seems odd and difficult. I could see if everything was just lower than normal but a PW and 4-iron the same? Odd.

    • While on vacation in Punta Cana a few weeks ago I played with rental clubs, Mizuno Pro 245's with KBS Tour Lite steel shafts. Surprisingly, I was blown away, not only by the distance, trajectory and dispersion I was getting but also about how soft and buttery they felt. It got me thinking.... IT'S TIME FOR NEW IRONS! Just yesterday, at my local Golf Galaxy, I tested them again side by side with the JPX Forged (recommended by the Mizuno rep who happened to be there) which also felt pretty good. Not as buttery soft as the 245's but they did produce slightly better numbers on off-center hits. Also, I haven't played with forged clubs with steel shafts in 10 years thinking I was getting too old and that I needed the lighter weight but these clubs with that shaft felt really, really good. So that's my long and drawn-out intro to my question: Does anyone here at TST play with either of these clubs and if so, what's your opinion?

    • By today’s standards that’s certainly true, but they weren’t having any trouble hitting golf balls in 2005 so I’ve equipped myself with what was among the very best equipment around that time for a very reasonable investment. If I get to the point where I feel like I’ve outgrown that stuff, I’ll reward myself with something more current. But for now I don’t need adjustable loft and lie and modern head shape, just a good quality, proven club with a clean club face. For now I’m going to concentrate on the basics. I know you can get more yardage with newer woods, but I don’t care about distance nearly as much as consistency, and you can’t buy that for any price.
