Can somebody explain to me how Rory Mc hasnt already won the FedEx Cup?

If he comes in dead last this week know body can reach him in FedEx points Tiger is over 3000 points behind him.  Is this just propaganda to get people to watch? Has the PGA asked Sports Writers to pretend the Cup is still on the line? I can't find a single article stating he has already won.. why is this?  Do you maybe have points taken away the farther back you finish this week?  Thats the only thing I can see .. but I dont believe  this is the case.

Please help! :)

Tiger is only 250 points back as of this week.  The points are re-set prior to the Tour Championship; they're set in such a way that basically anyone who makes the final event can theoretically win the cup, and everyone in the top-5 controls their own destiny (i.e. if they win the tournament, no other player can win the cup, regardless of how they finish in the TC).

They did this to avoid exactly what you're talking about.  In 2008, Vijay had already won the Cup through the 3rd playoff event; the Tour Championship was totally pointless (from a FedEx Cup perspective).  The PGA Tour didn't like that.

      We had a member of our senior club who developed a mental block on pulling the trigger. I played with him to see what the membership was talking about. I timed him a few times when he would get over the ball. 45 seconds. He knew he had a mental block and would chide himself, “Just hit it!” Once on the green he was okay and chipping was a bit better. It was painful to watch him struggle. Our “bandaid” was to put him in the last tournament  tee time with two understanding players. We should have suggested to him to take a break from our tournaments. I agree with the idea that when a player realizes they have a problem, the answer is to go fix it and not return until they are able to play at an acceptable pace.
