This is my first post so lets see how it goes.

How many people out there have ever heard of blind golf?  I'm sure everyone knows a blind or vision impaired person. Now imagine that person going out and playing a round of golf with you? impossible most would say. Well this week in San Antonio, Texas  30 blind golfers representing the US, Canada and Scotland competed in 3 sight categories playing for the title American Blind Golf National Champion. I am a 4 handicap 2012 B-3 National champion and I am over 90% blind. I would love for everyone to go out to the range and blind fold yourself and try to hit balls and then come back and tell me how was your experience.

I actually have heard of that.  I have played a modified version of softball, called "beepball" against a blind team.  One of the guys also plays golf.  Its really quite incredible.

Awards, Achievements, and Accolades

We played our national championship at The Republic Golf Course in San Antonio, Texas..... But blind golf as a whole is on the uprise there is tourneys going on  all around the world right now. I recieved an invitation to play in a tourney next July over in Glascow, Scotland. And sir it is pretty amazing thing to see and watch when you think about most of the people out there are completely blind, i happen to be a lucky one with about 8% of my total vision left so i can at least see the ball down on the tee which is more then most and my two day scores were 81, 78. So its is amazing what people could do when given the chance. But i was serious in wanting everyone to go and try blind folded hitting golf balls.

    • After a bit of a lean spell managed to birdie stroke hole one, long par five. Ball striking best it’s been for a while short game exactly the opposite. Had so many opportunities to post good scores last three or four games, failed miserably😀
    • Would You Rather #69 For this question let's assume you are playing whatever tournament is important to you.  Would you rather finish second in your tournament but be remembered for a huge mistake you make right at the end.  or  Would you rather play solidly in your tournament, but you still finish outside the top 25, and are never really in contention.  Incidentally, this happed to a friend of mine many years ago at the tournament I play every year. He was leading the tournament coming into the last hole, where he took two to get out of a greenside bunker and then three-putted his way to second place. He hasn't really been in contention again since.
    • I hate that I agree with this. But the guy is like a Ferrari with four flat tires trying to go 200 mph. Bad things can only come from that. He turns 50 on December 30th. I wonder how long Golf Cart Tiger lasts out there.
    • When you’ve resorted to this type of stuff, hang ‘em up.
