Not to be all fatherly here, but a lot of kids watch, and seeing your favorite golfer smoke....

I can see your point with someone like Daly, but you really think some kid's life was altered watching Cabrerra killing those butts like they were going to quit making them? I mean American kids. I like to think that most Argentinian kids have enough sense not to care what Angel does that isn't golf related.

There are a lot of guys on tour that smoke alot, and I think the TV crews do a good job hiding it.

You can't

No talking in bars either. I kid, of course. Actually, I think the line is from Eddie Izzard's Dress to Kill . On the other hand, if I heard from a reputable source that CA banned drinking in bars, I wouldn't be surprised.

I don’t mind people smoking on golf courses as long as they don’t leave the remains, you know what I mean. I’m trying to quit my self but enjoy smoking while playing. I know it’s a bad habit but at least I don’t throw them on the course.

But for tour players, hmmmmmm...... thats another story

No.. no worries... California continues, and will continue to allow drinking in bars. It's been 10-15 years since you could legally smoke in a bar. There is still shady places that usually have "club" in the name... The slum bars, anyway, a lot of people still smoke there..

Honestly, I wasn't of drinking age when you could smoke in a bar, but, a smoke filled bar seems disgusting. But to each their own.

The thing is, bars where you can smoke attract girls who smoke. And everyone knows that girls who smoke are easy. Especially when they are drinking. Not to be sexist, that's just common knowledge.

I don't smoke.that's my choice.you have the same choice, and I should respect your choice, even if it differs from mine. 25 years working @ hospital, noone has to tell me about the dangers of smoking...however, when the freedoms of the individual are relegated by a few, there's a problem.I don't want to smell smoke while I'm eating, but that's not on an open golf course, where a man/woman should be allowed to indulge w/o fear. this isn't a health issue..or even a "social influence" issue, this is a freedoms issue that's been tread upon for too long. if you're smoking a stoggie outside, your smoke shouldn't interfere with others' watching,if it does one or the other can move away. this is not burger king and you cannot have life your way...and any moronic jury that could hold the tobacco industry responsible for someone else's addiction, is insane...noone put that cig to the lips with a loaded gun to their heads..no way, what you inhale after that fact(additives), is on YOU, not the tobacco companies...how rediculous. common sense has been replaced by BS lawyers trying to make a name w/i their "legal community".
leave Daly and Angel alone,nonsmokers....they're not the ones your kids are supposed to be looking to for guidance/influence anyway...
what has happened to the thinking in this world?

Are they leaning on the cig as a confidence crutch?

Scotton..........you are killing me........"come to where the flavor is"......"everybody knows that girls that smoke are easy"........HA HA HA HA!

There is just something about the smell of cut grass, cold beers, and cigarettes in a golf clubhouse lounge / grilleroom that smells like home. You dont have to like it, you just shouldn't say anything about it unless its YOUR club, ala Goldfinger: "What does your club secretary think about this practice?". "Oh nothing Mr. Bond......I own the club."

Go tell Bobby Jones he can't smoke at East Lake or Clifford Roberts at ANGC and see what transpires. Ha...the 21st century & political correctness on the golf course....Scott you crack me up.........keep it coming!
