Will be staying at a nice little cottage in a small town about an hour west of Philly. Any recs? Looking at Honeybrook and Tattersall, but a quick look at Google maps shows golf courses everywhere within a 1/2 hour's drive.

Tattersall (technically now Broad Run) is a great layout, just played it a couple weeks ago. Heard good things about Honeybrook, never played it, though. IMO, invest the drive time and head out to Iron Valley in Lebanon, PA. Beautiful tract.

Nothing in the swing is done at the expense of balance.

I played Honeybrook on Sunday morning. Very nice, second tier course. For this time of year the course was in spectacular shape. Broad Run is a bit pricier, but I haven't played it yet this season so I don't know what the conditions are like (although most courses are holding up well this summer here).

I'd also consider the Golf Course at Glen Mills and Wyncote. If you want some in-depth reviews of the courses around Philadelphia, the Philadelphia Inquirer's Joe Logan has a ton of reviews posted on line.

I forgot about Wyncote, played that for the first time this year. Beautiful layout, and it wasn't even green when I played it.

Played Wyncote, Honeybrook and Inniscrone (twice). All allowed walking, which is a plus. Loved Inniscrone. Love Irish style courses. Loved the long par 4s. Two quirky holes - the short par 3 and the one with the double fairway. Will go back one day and get revenge on those holes I made a mess of.

    • Day 242 4-19 correct hip/chest movement in backswing. Less hip turn more chest turn. Did a bit of wrist arch stuff as well.
    • Day 42 (19 Apr 26) - Spent a bit of time working on maxing torso rotation…hit a few pitches to help reinforce.
    • Thanks - that was a total surprise…

    • First round at Quail Ridge: 47 + 47 = 94 *Note: It was 25+ mph winds with gust in the 35+ mph. It was also around 58 degrees. I felt like I was out in Oregon. The greens were very firm.  Driver was decent. It didn't cause me an issues.  Irons were the biggest issue. Just low point control was lacking. Mostly on the chunky side. Also, my irons were routinely 20-30 yards shorter than normal. Even on holes with a cross wind, the ball was just dying. We played an extra 9 holes after the first 18, and the wind died down by then. I stepped into a 9 iron, and it came up 15 yards short. I have no clue what is going on. I should not be hitting 9 irons 140 yards when I am hitting my driver 300 to 310 yards.  Warmup didn't give me much confidence. I just kept shanking every other iron shot. I didn't shank an iron during the round. I just felt all out of sorts today. Coordinate felt off.  yea, I have no idea if I am purposely slowing down my swing to feel my downswing piece. Again, I hit a decent 9 iron and lost 15 yards of carry. I hope this is just an off day.
