I'm a total newbie at golf, been playing for about a month now but had the clubs for years. Since my first day I have made some really great improvements in my ball hitting and would like to move up from my old clubs to something that will grow with me. I'm stuck on the Cleveland Launchers or the CG4's. Any suggestions which ones would be a good fit for a beginner like me?

Thanks,

Chris

ull be able to have the cg4s for longer, but the launchers will be way more forgiving.

I second that. Launchers will be more forgiving, but the cg4s will last a while. They have great feel but they wear out quickly because of the soft metal used.

The Launchers are very forgiving. I hit them pretty far even on off center hits. They are a good set of clubs, especially for beginners (I was a beginner last year as well) when I bought them. Go for the Launchers, fairly inexpensive and they should help improve your game - and you'll be able to keep them at least 2- 3 years before you can consider a low cavity back or blade.

Good choice, I am on my second season with mine and I really like them. I am improving my game a bit too, but I am pretty sure I will stick with these fore a few more seasons at least, I want to knock off at least 7-8 strokes before I look to upgrade...

anybody recomend mizuno 19's. I havent hit them but from everything I have read these seem what I'm looking for. An iron that will last at least a few years through my progression through the game and even in a few years be able to work the ball some before I upgrade to a low cavity.

I don't think you can go wrong with either. Both are ridiculously inexpensive these days for the quality club you are going to get. Not to confuse matters more but personally I'd recommend the CG4's. I hit them at a demo day earlier this year and they are pretty sweet. They are a game improvement iron without all of the thickness. I think they are forgiving enough that you won't be frusterated with them now and you could keep them, well, probably as long as you like (or they last). The Launchers are really nice as well and you'll have more success with them right now but I think the CG4's are a set you could still be playing, 5, 6, 7 or so years down the road if you really wanted. I think it ultimately boils down to how serious you want to take this game and how much practice time you are willing to put in.

I've hit them and I'd recommend them for what you're looking for. See if you can demo them yourself. That's the only real way to find out.
