Help choosing between GPS and Rangefinder

I am just starting to look towards getting either a GPS device or the Pinseeker 1500. Just wondering from some of you guys that have one, some of the benifits and bad things about them. If I was going to get GPS I was looking to get the Skycaddie SG4. I also found another one by GolfLogix but I don't know much about this one, has anyone every used that one or know anything about it. I do know that from golflogix website that their subscription prices are $29.95 for everything and Skycaddie is $29.95 for your home state and extra for the US. Any help would be great.

I just picked up a SkyCaddie SG4 today and absolutely LOVE the thing. Battery life is phenominal, accuracy is excellent, and the readout and options on the SG4 are beyond my expectations. The best part about it so far...it works on the range at the courses I play here. It has the different colored posts marked out on the range and exact yardage to them. I love it! I havn't played a round with it yet, but I will be using it tomorrow in a turney, so I can report back then tomorrow afterwards. The "intelli-green" feature should come in really handy. Like I said, I can report back tomorrow with a more detailed perspective if you like.

I have and use the Pinseeker 1500. It's far and away a better solution for me.

I second the suggestion to do a search on the forum here. There are some much longer running threads that have more opinions than this new one.

      I wonder if that is why my home course basically have no stakes now.  Not even markers.  It’s completely up to golfers to remember what is OB and hazard and how things used to be marked.     Even in tournaments, there is no marking and certain areas are played differently by different golfers who either don’t know better or use it to their advantage funny reading thru this with courses that actually have markers

      Great post, thanks for the informaiton. I try to avoid adding salt to anything I eat. I tend to add pepper on to my meals as opposed to salt. And I am trying to eat as clean on possible. On golf day, I eat 3 eggs for breakfast (pepper NO salt) and a salad for lunch, with grilled chicken thigs (pepper, garlic, no salt). I have been trying to avoid processed food, but we all slip. I also should have mentioned that the electrolyte packet calls for mixing with 16 oz of water, however I mix in 32 oz of water, so I dilute the electrolyte powder.

      So if I read the news correctly, the PIF will not fund LIV after this season.  LIV is trying to find new funding and a number of players there are now asking about getting back to the Tour.    I am very, very concerned that Taylor Gooch will not have a place where he can make a jackass out of himself soon
