For the last few months I've been fighting getting my alignment right instead of out to the right. All of my divots are going go the left of my target resulting in either a straight pull or a pull hook.

I've been fighting an out to in swing path.

I recently started making a slower backswing into a larger shoulder turn and have noticed that my divots seem to be more online down my target line.

Does a wider shoulder turn result in a more in to out swing? It seems like the bigger turn disallows the left shoulder for pulling out to quickly resulting in the out to in swing.

Is this a true fix or just another cover up to a swing fault?

If you take a shallower shoulder turn, meaning your left shoulder in worst case would turn your head away from the ball early in the backswing, can cause an over the top move because your going to be throwing your right shoulder the in a shallow turn as well.

What's possibly happening is that your slower, wider turn is causing you to get a bit steeper in the shoulder turn, your left shoulder is dropping down more, and if this is causing you to have your right shoulder drop down, this will force your right elbow down more and get the club more on plane. The reason is, your arm is connected at the shoulder, and that point governs the relative position of the right arm in the backswing, so if you take a steeper shoulder turn, that means your right arm can get lower. A shallower turn will make the right arm go higher. They talk about coming from the inside, were they drop down, you see Pro's do this were there right arm gets tight to there body. If your right shoulder is higher, it limits how far your right elbow can drop, and put the clubpath from the inside.
