Hello everyone,

My name is Randy from Chattanooga, TN.  I have been playing right at two years now.  I recently decided I needed to get some help on my swing as it was very sporadic.  I have seen better ball striking and started playing a draw recently (now if I can just stop thinking about so much when on the tee box).  I typically shoot anywhere from the 90's and up.  I haven't seen an improvement on my score yet, but have definitely seen better ball striking.  Hopefully I will start seeing those scores drop soon.  Anyways just wanted to say hello to everyone and look forward to talking with everyone here.

Hello Randy. This is a great site for information on improving. Good luck.

Thanks JonMA1.  I am heading to Sanford NC tomorrow to play 4 rounds at different area golf courses with about 11 other guys.  Should be pretty fun.  I know one of the courses (Tobacco Road) is way outta my league, but looking to just have a good time while there.

You'll have to let everyone know how it went. I've never played on a really nice course nor have I ever been to a live national event as a spectator. So I've always wondered if those really nice courses are much more difficult than the smaller, local ones. I assume the putting greens are way more challenging and the rough off the fairways always look a lot tougher.

Have a good one.

Tobacco Road is a great course. I was stationed down there in a former life. What other courses are you playing? Enjoy, and welcome to the forum!

We will play tobacco road tomorrow and then two rounds on Friday at Southern Pines GC.  Then on Saturday we have an early morning round at Talamore.  We are going to be playing different formats kinda like a Ryder cup with some best ball, match play, stroke play, and one other format I believe too.

So the golf trip was awesome.  We played 4 rounds (1 for fun Tobacco Road, 3 team rounds).  We divided up the teams by birthplace and had a North and South match.  Played Southern Pines first round as best ball, second round as scramble, and third round (Talamore) individual match play.  I was in the last pairing and we found out that North and South were tied at 5 all.  My partner closed out his match on the 15th winning 5-3 and I finished mine on the 18th.  Was extremely fun.

We went to Pinehurst after our last round and they had the women's and men's US Open trophies on display for pictures.  Will post some of them along with some of Tobacco Road and some random duffnering when I get them from my friend.
