Yes, I know the Supertri is ancient in Taylormade terms...

But I've been playing one I picked up cheaply and am considering some adjustments.

Before I go to the range and waste an hour pounding balls I thought I would ask for suggestions.

I currently play the 10.5 supertri 1 click closed.... .5* closed  loft of 11*  I believe.

I currently play the weights 10heel  2center  1 toe  ( removed but still own 16gram weight)

My problem... I just do not get a lot of kick from the Reg Blur shaft...

I would like to get another 10 yards out of the club....

Plan A

I am considering moving the 10 (or 16) to the center position putting 2 in the heel...

BUT at the same time I will click the club to the most closed position 1 degree closed 11.5 loft.

Is the closed position going to have more influence than just moving weights to heel?

Plan B

Stay with my current 1 click closed setting but put the 16gram weight back in the heel...

Would the added weight make the regular shaft a bit more lively ??

Right now I rarely get that great lag feeling from the shaft... Maybe 10g is too light?

Thought I would like the Supertri but right now I'm struggling with TOO many choices...

My trusty Tour Edge Exotics had some tip damage and the shop trimmed the tip an inch...

Put an inch back at the butt end of the club and said I wouldn't notice...

Put a Boccieri weighted grip on it...

Club changed.... feels dead, no shaft kick....

Not sure if it is the tip trim or the weighted Boccieri grip...

BTW

My PLAN C will be to replace grip on Tour Edge and abandon the Supertri completely!

Whole mess has been a nightmare...

Took a 10 handicap to a 12, now to a 14 in just over a month!

Driver :T Edge CB-1 or Cally Mini Driver 14* or GBB 11*
Tour Edge CB2 15* 3 wood (Best Club Ever!)

Callaway XR 5Wood (New BCE!)

Hybrids: Nike SQ 23*  Tour Edge 28*

Irons: TMade RAC  7-PW   T Flight 56 SWedge
Putter: Odyssey 2 Ball Blade, SStroke flatside to hole

Not sure adding to the loft is going to help add distance. Depending on your swing you may benefit more from opening the face and reducing loft some and moving some of the weight to the toe if you are trying to keep a draw bias on the club.

KICK THE FLIP!!

    • Imma throw a dart in the dark as no one can tell what is happening once every fourth iron shot per your OP. This might sound counterintuitive but if ball position is too far back in the stance folks are known to throw down clubhead steeply. Could be happening. And yes, @billchaois not wrong; clubhead tends to bottom out wherever your pressure is. So slide forward (not sway), then hit.
    • Day 300 (!): did a stack session.
    • Day 24: Missed my weekly round due to a last minute little league makeup game this morning. Managed to get in some backswing rehearsals while grilling sausages for dinner, and then putted around the office/laundry room after dinner.
    • but I don't understand how that's possible you still want your head to stay back you don't want the upper body coming forward and plus I've tried feeling that and it made my fat shots worse and I then tend to pull and sky all my shots especially with driver because I get in front of it dont need force plates to see i finish on my left side
