I'm not saying that you should not have yelled or that you should have told him to screw off or anything. I was just thinking that he was escalating the situation for no reason. I misunderstood.

What he probably thought, was that walking up to him and asking for an apology would prevent him from making the same mistake again. And having been there, I think he probably accomplished that.

Regardless, we all learned a valuable lesson that day. And that is, you can't take Jeremie anywhere nice.

Ditto, not much of a bar guy, unless i got my friends to go. Even then its usually a nice dinner as well. I am more of a casual drinker, maybe 1 or two beers after golf, not a bar hopping type of guy. I have to agree, nothing really to do in the South West part of ohio :p

Haha...in your defense, all 3 of you tried to take out the neighborhood on that one.

The bigshots all decided to hit driver...I think one ended up in a garage, another flew over a house, and the third almost hit small children.

My hybrid tee shot harmlessly fell to it's watery grave. Great tee shots all around on that hole...lol

Didn't you tee off first? Once you put the "safe play" in the water we all decided to go for broke and almost broke stuff.

I added the last one myself because the group behind you complained to the pro shop.

The homeowner did nothing wrong. "He should put his swing set in the front yard?" Are you kidding me? The responses here are disappointing at best.

Suffice to say 17 was not your shining etiquette moment as a group.

Clearly a joke on my part

Yep, first to tee off...only one to not get us permanently banned from Fox Meadow Country Club.

Haha, I remember a few of your drives that peeled way right and may or may not have hit some houses, so I wouldn't count yourself as safe! Overall, I was pretty embarrassed by my golfing that day. Didn't change the fun factor at all though.

Actually, if you think back, all of my OB drives were on holes with no houses within' striking distance. Really think about it...

I'm not sure if that's a product of luck, or me playing it safer when there was a threat of property damage and/or lawsuits. lol

I can hit them as wild as anyone, but I never came close to a house or person.

(Ever since I NAILED a house on a course and got reamed back when I was like 16, I've always tried to be more cautious around them)

When i hit mine OB, i was strategic, i just put mine across the road on the 1st par 5 on the back nine. At least i was gracious enough not to take out a house. I go after moving objects

Yep, I popped one left into the range, 1 left near a road, 3 right into some trees, one right into a hazard (Fortunately it was playable), 3 right into some tall weeds, and one right into a pond.

Not a great day lol.

EDIT: Fortunately a couple of those OB ones were provisionals and I found the first...so not quite as bad as it could have been lol

Hmm.. You are probably correct, the biggest ones were on the hole where the trees were down the right side between us and the houses.

Yeah, I think we had a couple that could have taken out traffic also. I hate any hole that goes along a road or has houses up the side, especially since my miss is usually a hook....

Yep. If there are houses, I'll be more strategic and I won't just swing away. I'm too cheap to pay for property damage lol.

Had I swung easily the first time and ended up like the 2nd drive on 17 it would have been much better. I was what, 15 yd from the green and took an easy swing? Crazy

Yeah, great recovery drive. Such is life. I play my best golf when I'm relaxed and swinging "slower".

Some range work planned tonight. Was gonna play 9, but range is needed right now. I'll play tomorrow and Saturday.

I'm thinking the same about hitting the range. Have to do the "hip forward" drill about 8000000 times.

    • The highlights as I see them: Championship and Challenger Series The creation of the PGA Tour and the PGB Tour, in the words of Joel Dahmen a few years ago. They're calling them the Championship Series (23-24 events) and the Challenger Series (20+ events). Both run February to August. They feel this will achieve three things: increasing the consistency and quality of fields across the season creating a clear system for players to earn and retain status and delivering a more structured and competitive experience for fans and partners—all in an effort to strengthen meritocracy. Championship Series Structure and Eligibility The 23-24 events includes the Players, majors, season-ending events, and the Presidents Cup and Ryder Cup. These will be 72-hole events with a 36-hole cut to the top 65 and ties and purses of $20M+. 120 players without an alternate list. 90 players (roughly) from the previous year and 20 players promoted from the Challenger Series. Full eligibility will be finalized later this year. Sites (cities) to be finalized soon, but 10 of the 15 courses have already been determined. Postseason: includes retention and relegation and concludes with match play. The Tour Championship will also be played across a rotation of prestigious courses. Challenger Series Structure and Eligibility 20+ events. Running concurrently. Will feature players fighting their way back to the Championship Series or players graduating and on the upswing from the Korn Ferry Tour. Many of these events will be current PGA Tour courses. About 7 of the Challenger Series events will be during off weeks for the Championship Series with elevated purses and visibility. Purses of at least $4M, with cuts similar to the Champ series. 144 player fields. Competitive Fields for Both Series Players will be eligible for only one series at a time: Championship Series Players are not eligible for Challenger Series events. Championship Series members will have a known schedule with all events having the same eligibility. Players and Majors will have their own eligibility criteria. Championship Series players don't have to play all events. This begs the question about, say, the Canadian Open, and other "home-town" events that players might want to play, even if they're Challenger Series events. Will releases be granted? Promotion and Relegation At least 90 players will be retained in the Championship Series, and 20 players will be promoted from the Challenger Series each year. Battlefield promotion for two-time winners from the Challenger Series. Players relegated from the Championship Series will have a "last chance" opportunity to retain status, or will go to the Challenger Series. Criteria will be finalized before the start of the 2027 season. Points System New points system (not FedExCup points). Separate points systems for the Championship and Challenger Series. Elevated points in the Challenger Series for off-weeks on the Championship Series. More details tk. Elevated International Events in the Fall The fall schedule will include a limited series of elevated international events with top players from the Championship Series, with the intent to deliver in partnership with the DP World Tour as part of the Strategic Alliance. Last Chance Series The Tour will develop a “last chance” series of 4-6 events in the fall, with a limited number of spots on the Championship Series available for top finishers. Eligibility will include players relegated from the Championship Series, Challenger Series players, and other categories to be determined. Q-School continues, as do the Korn Ferry Tour and PGA Tour Latinoamerica. Also, Brian Rolapp is the new commissioner as of January 1, 2027.
