You asked for it, OP delivered. Here's three clips of my golf swing, two irons, one driver.

9-iron, 140 out

Trying to drive the 290 yard green on the 13th:

Let me know what you think. Will post more soon!

lol not good enough? How? What's wrong with it? I compared it to Tigers and the only thing I find that's different is the finish.

Plus, even if the swing wasn't like Tigers.. but it is, but if it wasn't, Jim Furyk shoots under par from what I heard.

Posture not good enough, right elbow too far away from body, left arm bends and wrist bows.

bro that swing looks absolutely nothing like tiger woods. even the setup is not like tiger.  I would quit the game if a had your swing, no joke because your OTT move Is so severe.  I would be shocked if you are anything below a 10 hcp tbh.

as far as constructive criticism. your shoulders are aligned left at address which is classic for OTTers, stance is too narrow, grip too strong? idk hard to tell on video.  and you need to fire your hips before the upper body to initiate the downswing.  work on bringing the right elbow down on the downswing, not away from the body, keeps the shaft for on plane.  for someone with such an upright swing, that elbow needs to drop into the slot to prepare a more inside out path.

I agree, my wrist did bow at the top, I'll work on that. Posture could be better, but it's similiar to Tigers. Compare them. Right elbow is fine IMO.. and my left arm doesn't bend throughout the entire swing.

Either you have no idea how Tiger swings, or you'rea troll. Let's take a look at mine and his swing, side by side.

Here we look at mine, and Tigers, setup. If you notice, they are identical.

Hey looky, they're identical. lel. Granted, his takeaway is a little to the righ of mine, but if you watch Tigers videos, you'd notice his take away doesnt go straight back, but to the right a little bit.

Here we see me and Tiger in identical posistions. However, for Tiger, this is the top of his swing. My good friend Tmac pointed out that I bow my wrist, which after re-watching, I admitted to. I will try to limit that. However, if I held this posisition at the top like Tiger does, it would be once again, identical.

Here we see the VERY top of both our swings. As you see, like my good friend Tmac pointed out, my wrist bow. I will work on that. Thanks bro. (I highlighted the clubs to show how I'm doing it wrong.)

Here we move on to, IMO, the most important part of the swing, the pull down. As you can see, me and Tiger have identical pull downs.

As you can, once again, through contact me and Tiger are identical. Hid, hips, feet, knees, and even the magic V through contact.

As you can see, as me and Tiger both carry our swings forward and begin to rotate our body. Once again, nearly identical, however, my head is a little closer to my arm than his. So close.

And finally, we get to the end of both of our swings. Almost the same, however I like to finish with my hands pushing the club behind my head. It gives me a more "complete feeling" than what Tiger does.. but whatever floats your boat.

I hope this clears things up for y'all, and shows my bro, the worldengine, that I do, in fact, look very similar to Tiger.

I'd have to say that theworldengine is being a little harsh here, but I do have to say that I struggle to find comparison's to Tiger's swing. This isn't anything against you, but Tiger's starting posture and swing appear much more upright to me. The other part is the fact that at the top you have a little bit of the flying right elbow in comparison (not to bad though, just is exaggerated comparing to Woods). Finally, the follow through with Tiger is much more around his body, whereas yours appears to be more down the line in those stills. These aren't necessarily bad things, if it works for you, but they are some of the reasons people will tell you your swing doesn't look like Tiger's.

As a hint for your videos, keep the angle consistent. Get one shot with an iron and your driver from both down the line (with the ball directly between the camera and target) and from the front (with the ball between the camera and you). This allows people to see the swing much more accurately than these videos with weird angles. Also, this post belongs in the "Members' Swings" section if you hadn't seen that area yet.

I agree with this. His finish is a much more tork with the lower back / hips.. where mine is more arms / shoulders. I will really work on that. Thanks for the tip.

Also for the elbow, I once again, agree, I will work on that. Tigers elbow is more stiff, where mine can be seen as a little out side of the zone. I will work on that as well.

But overall, my swing looks like Tigers. There's really really tiny things that aren't 100% identical to Tigers, but it's pretty damn close.

I will also get a side view of my swing on Monday as most of Tig's swings are from the side. Thanks again for the info.

I did not know about the Members' Swings.. if a GGG mod could move it there.. amen.

Like I said earlier broski, if you watched any of Tigers swing analysis, you would find that Tigers take away goes to the right, not straight back, therefore, making him look like he's going deeper.

There are a few similarities but there are also significant differences. First, and I mentioned this before, your right elbow is too high. Second, you do not have the same explosive power as Woods, which makes his swing so unique. Tiger squats down on his backswing and lifts up at impact to create an explosive blow that allows him to hit the ball a mile. Your swing does not possess that feature. I have seen both swings on video and to say that your swing looks exactly like Tiger's is a huge overstatement.

Not over my head, it's nothing like Phil Mickelsons hands up top.. but I need to work on it. I will make sure i fix that. But once again, that's just a small fix. My video on Monday should look 100% like Tiger!

I'm just going to make one request here:

Please do not use bro or broski. That's a personal pet peeve of mine and it gets under my skin more than it should.

Overall, looking from a broad perspective, Tiger uses a lot more of his body to generate his power whereas your swing involves the arms more heavily than his. The key sign of this is that wrist bowing and it was something that I didn't notice/think about when first looking. Again, more power to you if it works, but your swing is your own and not quite the same as Tiger's.

    • 12/24/2024 So Christmas Eve we hosted the family. But I still found some time before and some time after to get some solid mirror work in. Yay!
    • Day 85 - 2024-12-24 Practiced for 90 minutes (which probably means I hit about 60 golf balls). No launch monitor, but plenty of aids and feedback.
    • So got fitted in a 35" Odyssey Microhinge Double wide 'blade' yesterday at GG. Choice was between it, SQ to SQ, LAB DF3, Rose Axis and Mizuno Craft  (also a double wide). Apparently I'm pretty good a aiming right of the hole consistently regardless of putter type. But it all came down to distance control and the insert feel. We hit puts in the putting area for the fitting but then ended up on the aisle carpet to hit long 40ish feet putts. Which is where the Microhinge did the best for my stroke. The Mizuno was a close second. The DF3 and Axis weren't bad either but I just felt really confident over the Microhinge and slightly soft but firm contact resonated so well. FWIW, I wanted to like the lie-angle balanced putters more than I did and was prepared to spend a bit. I guess putting is the individualistic aspect of our game. Hopefully, I didn't leave anything on the table. Anyone who knows my putting knows I need all the help I can get.
    • The driver swing honestly feels good. Haven't played in a/the course for a bit but did pretty good at the sim place yesterday.  The idea has been to reduce twisting shaft instinctively at impact. For this have weakened left hand grip considerably. Pushed higher up in the hollow of the palm to take out index finger and thumb in pressure application which is a major are major contributors of shaft twisting at impact. On the flip side, right hand grip is way down in the lower part of the middle fingers. Not using index or thumb much at all. It also is designed to prevent getting underneath the shaft too much at impact. More of a float-loady  'paint the ball' feel through the ball. Overall address and neutral grip keeps both lead and trail sides on respective sides of the shaft instead of over or underneath the shaft. It seems it allows/promotes moving the shaft/club unit in unison with wrist/elbow/shoulder joints similar to an elephant swinging it's trunk. It does not feel like I am guiding the club path or trying to control club face at all. Fairly organic. Playing TPC Sawgrass in about a month. Will see how it all holds up. I hear its a good test.. heh.
