Bore thru shaft Q

Found a sweet old driver, cheap, Mizuno T-Zoid with bore thru shaft. My only interest was to test the 'feeling' of the shaft inserted deep into the head, as opposed to most shafts which are only slightly into head. For many years the old Titleist with bore thru was favorite of TW and Rory, no doubt many other top golfers. But now i want to swap shafts and wonder if i need some special long non-tapered tip to fit into the head.  Yea, i have read that some guys just drill old part of old shaft and drop in new shaft but these not all the way thru the head. They retain the head but not the  'feel'. Do i need a special shaft?/

I got to swap out a bore-through FW shaft at the GolfWorks school, and it is a separate skill set from the normal reshafting.

Most trained clubsmiths can do it, but for a first-timer it can be very tricky. If you know a clubsmith well, maybe he or she would coach you through the process on  a slow day. Or, just have the clubsmith do it.

I believe all 0.335" diameter driver shafts have parallel sections for the first several inches, so getting it to fit in a thru bore shouldn't be a problem.

As a non-thru bore head stops about an inch or so before the end of the head, using the same shaft on a thru bore would make it like tipping the shaft by the difference in depth between a thru bore and a non thru bore head.
