I agree with the shaft, I was sure with him being young his swing would have picked up fast and the shaft would have been a good fit, it just has not.

Also I thought the Big Bertha was there SGI not the X20's?

The Big Bertha line was Callaways best SGI clubs for a long time. The Diablo Edge took the place of the BBs and the Razr X HLs replaced the Diablo Edge line. (I never liked those clubs). This year it is the Razr HL line that is the top Callaway SGI club. I have some coming to me by Friday I hope...My BB Golds now belong to an E-Bay buyer (I sold them in less than four hours.)

In my  bag:

Driver, Callaway Diablo Edge Tour 9.5 stiff

3, 5 woods: Callaway Diablo Edge Tour 15,18 degrees Stiff

2 hybrid: Callaway Diable Edge Tour 18 degrees R (out when the 5 wood is in)

3,6 hybrids: Callaway Diablo Edge 21 S and 30 degrees R

4,5 hybrids: Callaway Razr X HL 24 and 27 degrees Stiff

7-AW irons: Callaway Razr HL graphite R shafts

SW 54 Callaway X Series Jaws CC Slate Fujikura Graphite Stiff

Putter: Odessey White Ice 1 Blade Putter.

Ball...looking for any ball that hates water, sand, long grass, and getting lost in the woods.

I can't find any, so forced to use ones that seem to love all the above.

I think most would agree that the BB irons were great, I hope you enjoy what you got on order.

I have only been playing about four months and looking for some irons. I went and hit the adams idea a12 os and cobra baffler. I liked them both but leaning toward the a12 for the hybrids. I was doing a little more research online and found a few people claiming sgi was a bad idea because they are outgrown quickly and can cause you to develop bad habits because they are so foregiving. What is your take? Is it a bad Idea? Should I go with a game improvement set as they suggested? If so what are some examples of gi irons as apposed to what I have been told are sgi in the a12 and baffler? I have also been considerin an a12 os complete set stiff. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance!

Which ever set of clubs you enjoy playing that gets the ball up in the air, moving it forward to your intended target is the set for you.

    • Day 135 (27 Apr 24) - played Bradford Creek today while waiting for the missus fly in from her extended visit with the grands.  Good day to stay focused as it was a hurry up (groups pressing from behind) and wait (groups taking their time ahead)…a good day to stay mentally in the game - play the shot and not get frustrated in the waiting…
    • Day 122: 4/27/24 Supposed to be a Stack training day but I was beat after yard work today. Practiced chipping and putting at The Creek. The practice green is pretty slow but the session went well.
    • Went to the range today and was cursing myself when I got there as I realized I forgot my phone. I added an earlier wrist hinge to the short backswing I was using last time practicing and ball strikes were really good for the most part. I'm heading back to Boston Thursday to see friends and family and have a couple of rounds planned so I'm hoping to keep this feeling.  Yesterday morning I weighed in at 232. My goal had been 230 but maybe now it's 220. I'll have to think about that. I feel so much better without the extra 90 lbs. from 2 years ago. Still a softl slightly less protruding belly so it might be time to go hard on eating better. Work in progress.
    • Day 7- Went to the range and hit a bucket. Also did some chipping and putting.
    • Day 543, April 27, 2024 Practiced for about an hour today. Almost all slow, with plenty of rehearsals.
