Anyone on this site play squash? I got into it my sophomore year of high school and have been pretty serious on off ever since.

I joined a league team this past spring season and our team won the championship - won a stein with a naked lady handle. Which reminds me, I still have to pick it up because we got the members names engraved on it...

The number one selling point of squash is always that it burns the most calories / time alloted for any sport. I have seen on the outside of numerous squash courts a calorie table that compares the calorie burned / 30 mins. Squash is always the most.

Just make sure you don't get hit. I've heard its pretty painful and might make you throw up the pain is that great.

well, i was close to the wall, and i tried to slam it off the wall and move out of the way but it came back at me and skinned my head. The other one I tried a huge power shot but the ball was too close to my body and when i came in with the racket i hit myself in the ribs with my elbow.

I'm not sure what you mean by DIG, but yeah squash is pretty amazing to watch. It can be real quick, slowish, slam rails and nicks, but then all of a sudden switch tempo to very soft touch drop shots. Amazingly precise yet sloppy at the same time. No matter how sloppy a pro plays he will still hand you your head at the end of the match (which will definately end up 9-0, 9-0, 9-0)

Squash requires a mix of many fundamentals: endurance, precision, reflexes and creativity. here is a youtube clip of one of the crazier players to watch, Jonathan Power. http://youtube.com/watch?v=gfqRkNYqqjI

I just watched that video, and i never realized how dangerous that sport is, getting hit with the raquette or something, kinda makes me think and scared to go play again. Jeez some close calls.

Learnt and played a lot in boarding school in India. I picked it up again a few years ago, and was playing in the downtown Y - one of the FEW places with courts. Haven't played in about a year -- looking forward to starting up again.

It's a great sport!
