Tees: Wood vs Plastic

I am just curios as to which you lot prefer. Personally, I like long, wooden tees. I can hit plastic ones, but only with about 7 iron-PW, not any other clubs. I play much better with the long white wooden ones, and I have plentiful supply of them.

Which do you prefer?

I use the shorter wooden tees. I don't normally tee the ball up very high, so there is no need for longer tees in my situation.

I work for State Farm Insurance, and we just got in a whole load of State Farm tees, so I have a very large supply going right now. And I get to show off the State Farm as well.

By the way, I like to have a plastic tee or two to hit at the driving range, but I never hit them good on the course. I think it was a mental thing.

I never thought of it from a performance standpoint. I can hit just as bad with either! I have noticed that plastic tees leave a nasty mark on the bottom of the driver though.

I agree with this point about those plastic tees. They can leave some might nasty marks on the bottom on your club. In fact I didn't think anyone used plastic ones anymore. And in the heat of the summer it seemed they were sometimes tough to stick in the ground without them either bending or breaking.

only wood and only natural color. any plastic of painted leave ugly marks...

It's a real pain in the you-know-what to get that damn ball stay on it ! On top of that - it's not economical, the thin S-tee never survives a swing, it's a one-swing tee only. I know you can use the broken one for an iron, but still - I went through a box of them in a month. $30. I think I'd give up these 20yds they promise (yeah, right) and go with normal tees

I like either long wooden tees, easier to put into the ground or those biodegradable tees. The plastic tees make a weird sound on contact too.

normal white wooden tees for driver. as said above i don't need to tee it up that high as i have a relatively shallow faced driver. i just bought a pack of the tees tiger uses... like the stinger tees... pretty nice, seemed to have held up well after a couple of drives, and they are relatively soft too.

for irons i use the lowest 'height-set' tees. their virtually indestructible... made of a soft plastic so no marks... and always are set at the perfect height. if i want to tee the ball slightly higher i use a wooden tee.
