I want to know if the golf club can adjust the rules. We played a four ball competition two weeks ago and we didn't go to the clubhouse after the competition. we discovered that we came second but because we weren't there to collect the prize, they gave it to the next wininng team. My question is: is this allowed? It seems we paid our money to enter so we should be entitled to any winning vouchers. Since this happened there was a notice on the board claiming that if you don't go to the clubhouse your prize will be given to the next person. This has only happened since this incident. Your comments would be most welcome.

Allowed?  Under the ROG?  Under the laws of your state?

Have you played at that club before when they did it differently?  Maybe the rule was generally understood and then when your incident occurred they decided they needed to make it more explicit.

How did you turn in your scorecard without going to the clubhouse?

But then again, what the hell do I know?
