I'm 16 years old and this is my first REAL year of golf. My grandfather was a very good golfer in his day (scratch), but he's nearly blind now. Since I was about 10, I'd go out with him once or twice a year and play 9 holes, just to make him happy. I'd usually do the same thing with my dad. Anyways this year, when we're in Maine watching the U.S open, I was joking around with my dad telling him I could beat him and this and that. Anyways we get back home (MA), and we play. I probably shot around 70 on 9 holes, but I was able to hit the ball in the air so that was good enough for me. I then went on to play with a few kids from my baseball team. I gradually progressed, to the point where I'm not pretty intense about it. I broke 100 for the first time, about a month ago, and broke 90 for the first time two weeks ago. I enjoy the game, and I enjoy disscussing it. Nice meeting you all.

Just a question...how are you a 16 index if you only broke 90 for the first time two weeks ago? :D What kind of crazy slope and rating are you playing?

Thats when I started playing 18/saving the score cards. My logic is probably flawed, but in that three week span I haven't been over 90? So that is probably incorrect for the year, but it's how i've scored it since taking lessons.
