The Rhapsody are their ladies club line.

I went to a Ping Demo day today and hit the i10's, G10's and s58's. I was looking at replacing my G2's to get away from the offset and also get a lower ball flight (I bought my G2's three and half years ago when I got back into golf after hardly playing for about 7 years; they were a great club for what I needed, but it was time to move on). I found the i10's to be exactly what I was looking for. They're smaller than the i5's, have a more penetrating ball flight, and look more like a blade. I hit the G10's which had much more offset and also the S58's. I ended up ordering the i10's, 4-PW, one degree upright, stiff AWT shafts, along with a 60 degree Tour wedge to go along with my 52 and 56 degree Tour wedges I already have. I should have them by Labor Day, and can't wait to get them The pro I deal with has been the Ping Canadian Clubfitter of the year 3 or 4 times, so he is considered preferred client and can order now; he said other orders can start on September 1. I am paying $600 (Canadian), tax in for my 4-PW and 60 degree wedge, after trading in my G2's with them. I figure a good deal; the clubs are about $120 Canadian per iron (heard they are $107 U.S. per iron on GolfWRX) and I'm getting 8 of them. Full retail would have been $960 plus tax, so I got quite a bit for my G2's. I deal with this Pro quite a bit and he gives me good deals, and he said there is still a good market for the G2's. If you get a chance, try the new clubs out; they are nice. Though saying that, I don't think I would have traded in my G2's for the G10's; not much difference if just looking to upgrade an earlier version of a game improvement club.

I was fitted today for a set of G10s and can't wait to get them out on the track. I had tried out a variety of brands (including Callaway, Cobra, TM, Mizuno) over the last few months. After trying the G10s, I knew that they were the ones for me. Smooth and easy to hit, with a great sensation at impact. They are forgiving like the Big Berthas, but without the bulky feel. I'm hoping these will last me a long time and help my confidence on the course.

I purchased a set of G10's after a fitting session hitting some G5's a couple of weeks ago.
I wasn't looking for a set of pings but ended up going with them.
I think I didn't get the right advice of the fitter, between that and my brain and swing glitch. I couldn't hit them at all. I hit a bucket of balls and tried to play 36 horrible holes with them.

They are a real sharp looking club, and have a nice feel about them. But I couldn't hit them for crap.
Dumped them for a loss and bought what I wanted in the first place, Mizuno MP-57's

Hit them for yourself if you can. The i10's are smaller and less forgiving than the i5's. To me Ping really went to the extreme in the 10 line vs the 5 line. The i10's have moved much more towards a "players" club with smaller/thinner heads and less offset vs the i5's. The G10's moved more towards super GI vs the G5. The G10's are now the Raptures without the titanium face.

I've hit them both; the i10 is smaller than the G5.

    • Day 11: did mirror work for a while. Worked on the same stuff.
    • I'm not sure you're calculating the number of strokes you would need to give correctly. The way I figure it, a 6.9 index golfer playing from tees that are rated 70.8/126 would have a course handicap of 6. A 20-index golfer playing from tees that are rated 64/106 would have a course handicap of 11. Therefore, based on the example above, assuming this is the same golf course and these index & slope numbers are based on the different tees, you should only have to give 5 strokes (or one stroke on the five most difficult holes if match play) not 6. Regardless, I get your point...the average golfer has no understanding of how the system works and trying to explain it to people, who haven't bothered to read the documentation provided by either the USGA or the R&A, is hopeless. In any case, I think the WHS as it currently is, does the best job possible of leveling the playing field and I think most golfers (obviously, based on the back & forth on this thread, not all golfers) at least comprehend that.
    • Day 115 12-5 Skills work tonight. Mostly just trying to be more aware of the shaft and where it's at. Hit foam golf balls.
    • Day 25 (5 Dec 25) - total rain day, worked on tempo and distance control.
    • Yes it's true in a large sample like a tournament a bunch of 20 handicaps shouldn't get 13 strokes more than you. One of them will have a day and win. But two on one, the 7 handicap is going to cover those 13 strokes the vast majority of the time. 20 handicaps are shit players. With super high variance and a very asymmetrical distribution of scores. Yes they shoot 85 every once in a while. But they shoot 110 way more often. A 7 handicap's equivalent is shooting 74 every once in a while but... 86 way more often?
