You guys are missing an even bigger strangeness in that image.  The dude is rocking a pull-cart!!???  Someone with enough scratch to afford 4K clubs should have a caddy totin' the rock!

We were playing a public course. He explained to me that 30 years ago, he was rejected from every country club. So, he got used to playing public courses and enjoys it more, now, because he can meet more people. He does play private courses, and mentioned that he has another set (presumably in better condition) he uses on those courses. :-X

Maybe the caddy uses the pull cart???

No caddies on public courses. ;-)

Honma clubs are big-time "image" clubs in Japan. You need to have at least one Honma club in your bag just in case your boss decides to take you out for a round of golf one day. As you probably know, golf is very expensive in Japan, so you need to make a good impression when golfing with the head man.

I see, that makes sense as well.

      Day 29 (9 Dec 25) - PW dink and rolls as well as low flighted chips.  Dink and rolls - set up with club head toe down/heel up to promote low flight, plenty of roll out.  Low flighted pitches - club flat on the ground to get ball up a Rick more and check more.   No more than 10yds total distance - focus on getting the ball to finish near (within 10’ dia circle) the target “pin”…

      Never play with him again, and make sure every time you see him (especially when he's with other people) bring it up as a joke. Everyone will laugh but him. If he wants to ruin his own reputation, let him.

      Only ever used ShipSticks and never had a problem. It's really nice because you can ship to anywhere not just courses.  No matter what you use, I take the extra care of the clubs and wrap them in something before putting them in your bag and into the shipping box.

      Practicing my putting after work. I put five balls on the carpet and a mug on the other side. Once I make 3 out of 5 I can stop. If I leave any short or they go to far and fall off the rug, I restart.  Focusing on speed and hitting my mark 3 inches in front of me. Trying to gain consistency and discipline in all aspects of my putting game.
