Nike Vr Pro X3X Grooved Un-Chromed Wedge

I just bought a 52 degree gap wedge from a golf store in my area. It's a Nike Vr Pro that is apparently supposed to rust over the course of time. It is brand new. Does anyone have any experience with this particular type of wedge and how it rusts? Will this affect how it plays? I have heard varying opinions on that.

There are a few wedges that are "designed" to rust. Trusy Rusty is one, Vokey Oil Can finish I believe is another...

Playing a rusty wedge shouldn't affect your game or how the ball is struck or comes off the face of the club... the rust might even give the clubface a bit more friction than it would otherwise normally have but not create a problem or rules violation or anything.

I could be wrong on the clubs I mentioned but there are some designed to rust.

Rust is just to help make it "your own" and unique. They use to say it helped get more spin but I believe there were study's done and it in fact Dosent help. My vokey is one that is suppose to rust but I try to keep it clean so it Dosent

How much raw wedges rust depends on your climate and how often you wipe them down. I don't like dirty grooves so I wash my raw finish wedges in the club cleaner on the cart and wipe after every hole if I've used it. To date no rust just normal wear and tear in dry CO.
