very interesting info fellas.. i am going play my first round ever on Monday with two friends who are also pretty new to golf. I am wondering what ball I should use.. Right now, based on what i've heard and $$$, i'm looking at the Top Flite D2 Feel, Calloway HX Hot, Titleist NXT Tour & DT SoLo. We have been to the driving range about a dozen times and we are decent but I have no clue which ball would be best for me.. anyway, continue on with the knowledge

in the Ogio Grom stand bag:
Driver: Ping G5 9°
Wood: Taylormade V Steel 15°
Hybrid: Callaway x series 24°
Irons: Taylormade r7 4-SWWedge: Mizuno MP T 58° Putter: Taylormade Rossa Modena 8Ball: TopFlite D2 Feel & recycled Titleist Pro V1x's

Honestly, go with the most inexpensive ball you can find. You have enough to learn without thinking about what type of ball to use. The ones you listed are fine but I would look for a better value like the Precept Laddie Extremes at $20 for 2 dozen. This way you're not bummed about losing golf balls. Good luck on your first round!

Very good point.. maan i can't wait to go out on a course.. i've been addicted to golf for only three months and i can tell this will be a looong-term addiction. i've been into Tennis for a while and felt i wanted another challenge.. i think i found it in golf.. big time.

anyways, thanks again for the suggestion

I think you picked the right challenge

If you find yourself losing golf balls at an extreme rate (like I did when I started), checkout the deals on Ebay too. I wish Ebay was around when I took up the game.
