Did I do something bad on the course today?

I think I was the last one on the course today while all the rest were in the bar.  I hit my 5 wood for a par 3 and thought it went into the woods near the green.  It was getting pretty dark and I was losing sight on things around 200 yards out.  I get up there and find my ball next to the woods.  The distance was on but the alignment was off.  I have to take a funky swing because the club is hitting some bushes.  Well, I proceed to skull it out of the thick and it shoots across the green into the rough.  As I'm walking towards my ball I see a bright yellow Taylormade ball and go to pick it up and half the ball is gone.  I put it in my pocket.  I proceed to skull my next shot back out across the green and it lands about 5 feet from my original spot.  I hit the next one about 6 feet from the hole.  I'm walking the same path and see a white Titleist ProV1x sitting in the rough.  I go to pick it up thinking I've once again hit the holy grail of lost balls but the damn thing has it's poor little head slit almost all the way through.  It looked like a little flapper top.  I made my putt and decided to lay the Titleist with the ProV1x stamp on top just off into the first cut to the green for the next victim.  Either a late comer or one of those early morning ball hawks will be zeroing in on that.

Was it wrong to do that?

seems weird to me.......

The greens workers own that ball now...unless the group behind you found it in darkness.

I think he means that it was cut and just something to fool the next ball hawk into picking it up. ;-)

Ha ha ha!  I admit to doing the same thing at times.  We both should toss the damaged balls in the trash but sometimes it is too tempting to leave a little "gift" for the ball hawkers.  ;)

    • Day 5 (13 Mar 26) - Friday shootout cancelled- made it a practice round working from mixed tees. Plenty of up and down work around greens.  Best was a hole out birdie on the par 3 #5 hole - nice pitch and roll w/Pw from about 10yds off the green - dead center flagstick drop.  Much of round was focused on getting solid weight shift into lead foot.
    • Day 208 3-13 Worked on wrist arching and flow. First time hitting reall balls at a range in months. It was nice to see ball flight. Still not sure it beats my backyard practice station.
    • Three hole match - microphones on in the cart. It's fascinating listening to them talk about their shots and how they play them. I'm not normally a huge fan of the TM videos - they seem forced to me - but this one doesn't. It's also fun seeing their competitiveness over what on the face of it is a fairly meaningless 3 holes, but they can't help themselves.
