Well, I guess I've got the itch! this past saturday (sept 15), I played 18 holes in Cullman, AL. it was the first time I'd ever been on a course, so for one, i was nervous as crap because of etiquette and the such...

first hole was absolutely terrible... i almost hit a car to the right, and next ball went about 10 feet to the left...

second hole was ok, i suppose, but bad enough that the guys i was playing with quit keeping my score

3rd hole, i quit because i was about to start cussing and pitching a fit

5th hole, i had relaxed a little, so i decided to play again.. lot better than first 3...

quit again at about 11... balls kept going for a swim

overall though, it was fun, hope to get back out there soon...

Hit the range and get a lesson with a pro. Once you start getting the ball airborne, you're off and running. Going to the course too much when you can't get the ball going might put you off, so don't rush it.

i just started too! my first time will be friday. i have been at the range every friday before softball. i ave about 150 to 225 when driving. Every week it seems to carry a little more. i am still working on my iron play. the farthest i ahve hit with 3 iron was about 200 or less. it has not been to bad. manage to get 70% of ball in the air and for the most part straight. can't wait till i can really put some power behind my swing. oh i use adams A2 hybrid irons

Well you're screwed! Your life is no longer your own.

You will soon be obsessed with:

1.going to the range (day or night),
2.golf collectables (balls, cups, tape dispensers...),
3.watching hours of golf on TV, (if you don’t have HDTV, get it),
4.watching replays of all Tiger's great rounds (Tiger Week is not on The Animal Network),
5.an attraction to all things plaid,
6.golf jokes.

Make a space in your closet or garage for all the clubs and training aids you will buy, use briefly and set aside, but somehow will not be able to part with. And say good-bye to sleeping in.

There’s more, but I don’t want to hit you too hard, too soon.
