I've gone from a bad golfer to a decent one, but one problem that has remained consistent is accuracy with my driver. My common miss is a shot that starts on line, and then goes well right. When I try to correct this, I have been known to hit a low, left hooking shot.

I have taken lessons and brought these struggles up more than once, but nothing seems to stay fixed after my lessons.

My question is, did anyone else go from being super inaccurate with the driver, to accurate? If so, how did you do it? I feel like since I hit well at my lessons, and then poorly later, it is a mental issue. Any insight on how to correct that is appreciated too. I would love to improve my scores since this is my main issue!

Sounds like you have a swing path issue. I would bet that you swing from outside to in. Your clubface is probably pointed at the target, but due to the swing path the ball will slice big time.

The fix could be any number of things. I recommend starting a My Swing thread. There are some very smart people on the forum who could give you some more detailed help.

    • Wow, largest ever 36-hole lead at the Masters. Seems good. I don't really have much to add, but I'm having a great time nursing a cold by watching this tournament.  I doubt Rory fumbles this one, but you never know. As a fan, I hope he can close this out with two rounds to go.  I saw a funny comment somewhere where someone said Bryson should try to 3D print himself a green jacket.
    • Day 234 4-10 Blending hip/chest rotation backswing work and wrist arch in downswing. Pause at the top and slower swing. Recorded and hit foam balls.
    • Day 2, April 10 2026.  After watching today's excellent Masters broadcast, I have hit 18 balls, one at a time, each after doing the pelvis limiting drill.
    • Day 33 (10 Apr 26) - Played in the club Friday shootout with a slight twist as the course was setup for tomorrow’s local “Masters” one day tournament.  The pins were in some slippery places and the greens firm and bouncy.  Overall made for staying the process all the more important especially on the greens.
    • Rory up by six - makes me wonder if the powers that be will adjust Augusta’s moving day setup to be uber tough or uber getable to get a few closer.
