Currently have a 909Dcomp 10.5 loft with Aldila DVS 60-R and love it but am going to upgrade to the 915D2. I use the regular flex DVS even though my swing speed is 116. The DVS is stiffer than most regular flex shafts so it works well for me.
I want a shaft that has the similar characteristics as the DVS but can't decide on one. Went to get fitted but they only had a couple stock shafts that weren't that great.
I'm looking into the Rogue silver 60 (125) but wanted know how similar they would be. According to the website they seem to have similar characteristics (I'm sure the Rogue spins a lot less) but can't get my hands on one to try. I have a discount so the Rogue (125) wouldn't be much of up charge for me so price isn't much of a factor. Any insight would be awesome!

They don't have the rogue on the fitting guide, but the DVS is fairly high launch.  Playing it in regular would make it higher launching.  Also, the fitting guide recommends stiff for your swing speed.  I would recommend hitting the Rogue silver 60 first as the Titleist site says it is low/mid launching.  The head itself is higher launching than the 909, so it may be equal in the end.

Are you going to get fit?  Bring your 909 with you.

Thanks for the input. The Rogue silver 60 (125) is actually on my order form thru my school discount which is why I was looking into it. I tested the driver the other night at the PGA Super Store but they only had the Diamana shafts and I didn't really like em. I'm gonna give Golfsmith a try. And great idea, I'm gonna bring my 909 with. Appreciate the help!

Your 116 mph swing speed puts you among the 50 longest-hitting pros on tour (this week):

And I'm fairly certain that every one of those guys uses a true X-flex shaft in the driver.  Why wouldn't you go with the same type of equipment that wins tourneys?  Is there an issue with de-lofting the head at impact?

That's what I'm scratching my head over, regular flex???.. at 116mph? You were fitted?

So I went to Golfsmith yesterday and had their fitter help me out. I brought my current driver along (with the DVS shaft) and tested it against the 915D2 with different shafts. After a few swings the fitter told me I should be hitting an X flex and something around 75 grams. So I tried the Diamana in a X flex 70 grams and hit it okay but nothing worth bragging about. After trying many different shaft combinations I went back to my old driver and hit it much better than the rest. The results, the feel, the trajectory, the spin, everything. The fitter did say that the DVS runs stiffer than most shafts so it's more like a stiff flex by industry standards which is why I can hit it. He did also say the Rogue Sliver 60 (125) might not be a good fit for me since I prefer a little more flex in my shaft. My club head speed was right around 113 during most of the fitting but I struggled to get the ball high enough with the X flex even with a 10.5 head. I hit a few at the end with my driver and was consistently carrying 285-290 with my spin rate averaging about 2400 and launch was around 8.5 degrees. I do tend to shut the face a little, thus creating a slightly lower ball flight and a consistent draw.  I'm leaning towards getting the 915D2 with an X flex (haven't decided which one yet) and try it out based on the recommendations and my swing speed. If that doesn't work I'll just get another DVS shaft for $40 and put it on.

    • Day 38 (18 Dec 25) - got out in the backyard with grandson this afternoon.  We got into a little game of pitching the ball from about 25yds to a target point just off the asphalt lane behind the backyard.  Goal - just clear it with a quick hop and stop.  Focused on using the wedge swing motion I was talking with the course pro yesterday….smooth and thru just bruising the grass.  In addition to a concentrated focus on technique, it also called for a quiet mind locked in on target point.  Rehearsed this with both the 50° and 55° wedges.
    • I listened to the Shaun Webb one about the swing coach app. Sounds like a great thing and will (hopefully) be very useful for me. I do think the hosts are underestimating where AI could be in a few years. Right now it's just regurgitating stuff that it has been told or it has scrubbed from somewhere else and a human guiding things will be quite a lot more helpful than just the AI, but it's going to keep developing and it will reach the stage where it's figuring this stuff out on its own. Time will come when it will have you do a TPI style screen and take various height/arm length/leg length etc. measurements, have you tell it some history and your time constraints and goals and what not and it will watch a video of your swing face on and DTL and it will know exactly what you need to work on.
    • I found it entertaining, but the announcing was lousy.  How did the measuring on the final shot start with Rory being closer and being told he won, and then with no explanation it turns out Scottie won?  Weird.
    • Day 128 12-18 Worked on rotation and getting to lead side. Still working on the flow feeling while doing that. Recorded swings.
    • IMO-the only thing entertaining was the relay race. Everything else was excruciatingly boring...or just  stupid, like the 14-club thing. Watching guys blade wedges into the water over and over is not at all interesting.
