Going to play MB second week of April with my 12yo son and thinking to take a chance to see practice round at Masters. I searched for it and it’s either “it’s easy to get ticket from scalpers” or “you may get arrested for trying to buy ticket”.

Anybody with recent experience, please share safe way to get Monday or Tuesday badges under $100 and without risking to go to jail?

If GA locals interested in tennis US Open, we’re in NYC and will get you hook up to visit Flashing Medows in return.

END winter NOW!

I spent a Monday morning down there last year trying to track down a relatively cheap ticket.  with the patrons leaving and going to parking area instead of Washington road area you just cannot find any.  I ended up walking to the area where they let the scalpers sell (way down Washington road - near i20) their tix and paid 300 for one.  This is as cheap as I could find one and I spent a couple hours looking.

How I miss being stationed at Fort Gordon, outside of Augusta, GA......I lived there for 6-7 yrs and went to so many rounds over the years ----but now, I'm getting shut out with the National's lottery.....it was cool of Augusta National to allocate 100 or so badges to the active duty military. They had a lottery and you could use the badge for just one day and return it for someone else to us it.  I always put in for the Thursday's round since I had a better chance - most people asked for Sunday.

There were times when I'd offer folks $20 as they left practice rounds (at about 2-4 pm). This was early 2000s when they scanned the practice round badges and allowed reentry.....not sure they do it anymore. If you truly want to see a practice round, would just shell out STUBHUB money to guarantee it. But be warned if they have rain, lightning, you out of the money and there's no rain check for the following day, unfortunatley. Also, hotels/motels are X2-4 times more expensive during Masters' week.

    • I had the D-9's a while back, thought the stock Wilson grips were rubbish.  I put Pure grips on them. Pure is now out of business but available on Golfworks.  Currently some colors in stock as of today. PURE Wrap Golf Grips - The GolfWorks PURE Golf's tackiest grip, the Wrap features a perforated wrap design and is ideal for golfers that prefer a slightly softer, more muted feel at impact.
    • If he had to hit over the bunker, I'm guessing he was further from the hole, although "in front of" implies the opposite.  If that's right, that may have been the right spot for penalty relief, a single PS.
    • Day 52. Trying to work on hard pan lie pitching in the rain in the yard.
    • Did you look up any Rules before posting here? What did you learn or find? You don't get to drop (or place) closer to the hole. 16.1(c) deals with relief for Abnormal Course Conditions in bunkers. You're granted free relief for: Since you say the bunker was basically entirely full of water, you likely wouldn't get complete relief, so for free (no penalty strokes), you are entitled to "maximum available" relief. If there's a spot in the back of the bunker away from the hole where the water is the shallowest, then you can drop there. If you don't like any of those options, you can take a penalty stroke and drop out of the bunker, behind it: You seem to have played from a wrong place (nearer to the hole) and thus likely should be penalized two strokes. It doesn't sound like a serious breach, at least.
