I am looking for some course recommendations for central fl near sebring. We are taking a family trip to stay with my wifes grandma and want to do some golfing. Looking for affordable family-friendly courses. My daughter wants to start playing golf and I would like her to enjoy herself as much as me. Thanks

Sebring seems to have a lot of cheap golf judging by the signs i see driving down 27 - havent played anything down there but assume it is pretty quiet later in the day as the average age down there seems pretty high. Depending on how far you are willing to travel, there are some decent courses in Lakeland or 2 in Okeechobee that are newbie friendly on one nine, with the other 9 just plain mean. (would not say the okeechobee ones are in great shape)

Unfortunately, I'm not going to be much help with personal knowledge on this one. Sebring is a nice little community, but it's forever and a day from the plethora of golf normally found in FL. I'd recommend checking on [URL=http://www.golflink.com/golf-courses/city.aspx?dest=Sebring+FL]golf link [/URL]and going from there. You can also cross reference reviews on GolfNow to get a feel for more current conditions. I did notice that the CC of Sebring is offering a golf, pizza, and beverage special for $28 per player if you bring a 4-some. Sounds like a fun family outing.... :-) Good luck, have fun, and welcome to the site! :beer:

      I think you're saying it's preposterous to think that the areas on this club are anything like what's shown here: 30mm toward the toe or heel loses only 5% distance? Highly, highly doubtful. So a guy who hits the ball there and normally hits the ball about 250… will hit it instead about 238. By missing the sweet spot by about 1.2 inches? Highly, highly doubtful. Heck, the high heel barely gets into the red, and orange is only "up to" 10%! @M2R, I've never heard of "Ask Golf Nut" but I'm dubious of his claims in the video and really, really dubious of what's on his site: "Why AskGolfNut Is the Most Trusted Data-Driven Golf Resource". Hmmmmmm.

      So the question was posed today by some of my friends.  Is a pitch mark the same as a divot?  I thought NO, but they argued if your ball lands in another player's divot (made by club during a swing) this was the same as a pitch mark, i.e. the ball mark made when the ball lands

      Original definition use to or still is how far offline you hit it. It might be better to think of it as consistency in retaining favorable launch conditions to optimize distance.   That heat map showed a gigantic 0-3% loss in ball speed. That is absurd. The true 100% sweet spot is tiny for all clubs. Good luck telling the difference if the sweet spot is under 3% in a sizable area. Especially considering variation in launch angle, spin, and outdoor weather.
