Tour golf is measured in money earned, yet the major websites seem to either not be interested in payout results, or prefer to keep it secret for as long as possible.

Does anyone know of a site that breaks down the payouts for the current tournaments? I am always interested in seeing how PGA money compares to LPGA and Web, or Symetra and how fast the dollars drop off after 3rd or 4th place.

That shows money for everything but the LPGA Tour.

@Baynative

http://www.pgatour.com has all the results of the tournaments with the payouts. Just go to tournaments, pick the event you want, and click the "Past Results" tab. In the right-hand corner you will see a drop down menu to select the year.

This is a screenshot from the Valero Texas Open .

http://www.lpga.com has something similar, but it's just slightly harder to navigate. Also, it doesn't appear they updated for the tournament that just ended today, but honestly, I didn't dig that much.

This is the screenshot of the results of last year's Kia Classic .

Web.com tour's site is run by pgatour.com, and can be found here: http://www.pgatour.com/webcom . They don't have the 2015 results updated yet, either.

You probably shouldn't be surprised by now that the Symetra Tour's website runs basically the same way: http://www.symetratour.com . Just find the tournament, go to "Past Winners", find the year you want and click "View Full Results".

This is from the most recent tournament, the Florida's Natural Charity Classic .

Thanks to all you guys. I've noticed that PGA  'eventually' gets the payout up. Today must have been quicker, although I had just checked it when I posted. That was what added to my frustration. The espn link is one I didn't get when I googled for payouts.

I'm really surprised the golf channel website doesn't get these numbers up.

I've noticed in the past the big tourneys can take a day or 2 to have the full individual amount listed, Im sure like anything else they audit quite a bit.

    • Day 11: did mirror work for a while. Worked on the same stuff.
    • I'm not sure you're calculating the number of strokes you would need to give correctly. The way I figure it, a 6.9 index golfer playing from tees that are rated 70.8/126 would have a course handicap of 6. A 20-index golfer playing from tees that are rated 64/106 would have a course handicap of 11. Therefore, based on the example above, assuming this is the same golf course and these index & slope numbers are based on the different tees, you should only have to give 5 strokes (or one stroke on the five most difficult holes if match play) not 6. Regardless, I get your point...the average golfer has no understanding of how the system works and trying to explain it to people, who haven't bothered to read the documentation provided by either the USGA or the R&A, is hopeless. In any case, I think the WHS as it currently is, does the best job possible of leveling the playing field and I think most golfers (obviously, based on the back & forth on this thread, not all golfers) at least comprehend that.
    • Day 115 12-5 Skills work tonight. Mostly just trying to be more aware of the shaft and where it's at. Hit foam golf balls.
    • Day 25 (5 Dec 25) - total rain day, worked on tempo and distance control.
    • Yes it's true in a large sample like a tournament a bunch of 20 handicaps shouldn't get 13 strokes more than you. One of them will have a day and win. But two on one, the 7 handicap is going to cover those 13 strokes the vast majority of the time. 20 handicaps are shit players. With super high variance and a very asymmetrical distribution of scores. Yes they shoot 85 every once in a while. But they shoot 110 way more often. A 7 handicap's equivalent is shooting 74 every once in a while but... 86 way more often?
