Voice Dictation in Safari and iOS 8.2

If you use voice dictation to write posts on iOS and Safari (on your iPhone or iPad most likely), then you may have noticed that it stopped working properly with iOS 8.2.

You'll speak, words will be typed, and then immediately replaced with a space when you click done.

There are, fortunately, two work-arounds for this:

  • Tap the web page twice instead of clicking "Done".
  • If you click "Done" just shake the device and choose "Undo" to undo the replacement of your brilliantly worded post with a space.

This bug may affect more than just the CKEditor we use here on the site: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/6866803 . In fact, it may not even be the CKEditor since the mobile version uses the BBCode Editor, now that I say that…
