Edmonton Oilers Win Draft Lottery.... Again

In case, you did not get off the course in time to watch, you did not miss much.  I found the format anticlimactic and dry.  I was expecting to see some spinning, tumbling lottery balls getting spit out of the machine.

This is getting ridiculous with the Oilers winning the lottery 4 times in the past 6 years, and still be a perennial cellar-dweller:

2010 1st pick - Taylor Hall

2011 1st pick - Ryan Nugent-Hopkins

2012 1st pick - Nail Yakupov

2013 7th pick - Darnell Nurse

2014 3rd pick - Leon Draisaitl

2015 1st pick - Conner McDavid  (predicted pick, and very likely)

The Edmonton Oilers are also in a legal battle with the owner of the Erie Otters. Connor loves (not romantically, duh) the owner of the Otters. That will be interesting…

The Edmonton Oilers have their 4th 1st overall pick in the past 6 years, but they did not win the lottery 4 times. They won it 3 times :smartass: . Up until 2013, the lottery winner could only move up 4 spots, so Edmonton retained the 1st overall pick in 2011 when NJ won the lottery.

But yea, they're a poorly managed team and horrible at developing young talent. I feel bad for the kid.

      It’s winter here and time hitting at my indoor place.  This year I bought and sold a few sets so I didn’t settle in on anything. For this coming season, starting now I have a choice to make.  What set would you guys use? 1.  Nike Vapor Pro irons - They are like new, hit them some last year before I had to demo other sets.  I love them, original grips, barely used so I’m almost not wanting to use them to keep their value up.  Standard LLL and standard grips. 2. Taylormade P7TW irons - Still in the box.  Got them over a year ago but had too much to hit, never used them.  Have used a set in the past and loved them.  Ended up with my own set custom fit to me -1/4”, 1 degree flat midsize grips.  These are probably not as valuable because they are still available and they are fit to me. I hate to put the Nikes away but it makes more sense to save them than the TW’s…. I dunno….
