My granddaughter likes to go to Top Golf with us and wants to some hit balls, but they don't have any kids clubs.

I am going to get her a wedge for her first club, but most of the clubs I have seen for a girl her size have an integrated grip that is supposed to teach proper grip.  I am thinking that for a 6 year old's first club that type of grip might be a bit much.

Do any of you all have any experience with this?

Thanks

I would get her a kiddie putter, and eventually a 7 iron.

If she can learn to use a putter not only on the green, but also on the fringe and off the fairway, she will be ahead of a lot of American golfers.

I volunteered at the Curtis Cup matches last summer (US vs. British-Irish women amateurs). The US women are addicted to the lob wedge inside 50 yards. A few chips or putts off the close-cut fairway would have worked better many times than a high flyer into a false front.

The US women won the matches but it was closer than it needed to be due to short-game miscues.

Focus, connect and follow through!

My 19 1/2-month old daughter Alina, has her own putter... I would suggest a putter, and an iron with some loft maybe a 9-iron something like that... Putter first... Inside 50 yards I've been known to hit a 5 or 6 iron from even 50 yards...

What's in Shane's Bag?

Check out US Kids Golf. They make great sets for kids. My older daughter (6 yrs) has the 4 piece (fairway wood, 7i, PW, putter) and it works out great for her.
