I have a cleveland 56* 10 bounce and trying to find some other wedges to complement this wedge or play similarly. the courses here for from dry to soggy sometimes in the same day. holes further from the rivers/farmers fields tend to be a bit drier while the ones closer seem to hold water much longer like a sponge so its varied as for conditions.. I play a picking type wedge shot. any time I try to play taking a divot I over dig. (any wedge/iron no matter the bounce) Im not sure if I should go 6,8,or 12 on the others. and can not find 10 in the set I am looking at.

I went from Cleveland 10 bounce (588) to TVD K Vokey 10 bounce. Sole made huge difference. Look for a sole similar to TVD K

Im not looking at changing the cleveland. just adding a AW and LW to complement. I love the cleveland 588 rtx

I have a 50.12 54.08 and 60.04 - most folks here would argue that I don't carry enough bounce, but I think that directly relates to a particular pitching style promoted here. If you like a lot of bounce, there is plenty to read in other threads.

I can open the 60, and when square the tiny bounce helps with downhill flops. An open 54 is more than enough for greenside sand shots. 12 has been plenty for the gap wedge. I play very dry, firm conditions all season. A picker like yourself, I find my wedges work fine in those rare fluffy lies or on away courses.

I recommend a little variety in your decision - or else you wind up with three important clubs that only vary in a few degrees of loft.

Then there are the sole/grind discussions...

on some clubs I saw "ATV" I read about the TM company bringing them out etc. but how do they relate to bounce?

I own the original taylormade ATV wedges.  Personally after testing out multiple other wedges I really don't like them at all.  Now I can hit plenty of good shots with them but I really have to be much more exacting with them.

To my eye they have a really wide sole, but not a lot of visible bounce.  The leading edge really likes to dig easily for me, and the flip side is the lack of bounce lets me slide the club under the ball too much either.  I'm sure that technique plays a big role in this but I have problems...

I recently hit a ping glide ts and callaway mack daddy 2 tour grind wedges and they seemed to be loads easier for me to hit the ball on pitches/around the greens then my wedges.

I would definitely test some different wedges/grinds out on good chipping areas or on the course to see what you like.

Bounce is pretty trivial compared to the grind of the sole.

My Edel wedges have 14, 16, and 18 degrees of bounce and I have no issues with the clubs in any sort of lie. I've used them on hard pan to muddy sand with equal success.

    • Ok, I'm trying to find a feel to hit a consistent ball flight (irons).  My current predicament.  1. I try to do the arms down stuff better, with the club feeling like it is way behind me more. It's just a cluster of results. Most of the time, I can't get any speed on the swing. If I get my arms down faster, I just throw them out.  2. I focus all my attention on turning better. Pushing off with my left leg and getting my right side through better. On the DTL view, this doesn't produce anywhere close where the hands and club should be. The result is usually ball first contact, lower ball flight, more centered contact.  At this point, I am going with option 2. Stop thinking about what the hands do. Just make a shorter backswing, keep it wide, turn through. Somehow, the club head finds the ball. My focus is so much on just making sure I turn, it's like, "Oh, that contact was better.... Oh, that bell flight looks playable." If not, I will just be practicing my entire summer.
    • Nope, they spent too much money. They are in over 28 million on the football roster and related NIL compensation at this point. Boosters associated with any Texas college football team has HUGE sway. The AD is between a rock and a hard place. They put a lot of money into Sorsby, at the chance of winning a NC this year. If you move on, you basically wasted a lot.  This is why Ohio State wants 3 QB's they feel can start. That is why the backups the past 5 years at some point transfer. Texas Tech has no backup near the quality of Sorsby. If they move on, they are screwed for 2026.
    • Maybe there's something I still don't understand about the situation. Wouldn't Texas Tech do itself a favor to move on from Sorsby at this point?
    • Day 281 6-10 Full swing, fast, getting low point ahead of "towel".  Working on flow during this seems to help.
