The LPGA is in town and will be playing my home course this weekend. Lots of great feedback from the players so far about the greens. I will be out on the course all day Saturday and Sunday, as well as on the range tonight. (We can get pretty dang close to the players here). It has been an exciting few weeks building up to this event as the course is in excellent shape. Ill make sure to take plenty of pictures for TST. Stacy Lewis is the local favorite having attended the U of A, however I'm rooting for Michele Wie. Im really interested to see how these girls shoot -12 through the weekend on the same course I have a hard time breaking 80 on.

I'd be highly interested in and am looking forward to your take on how they do.

The course they play is 6300+ yards.   Is that similar to what you play?

A GC commentator once mentioned that In Bee Park (could have been applied to any top 10 LPGA players) may be playing to +4 or +5 handicap.  I would like to see your take on this comment after the weekend.

I am rooting for Stacy.   It's her turn to win and spice up things a bit for the fight at the top.

I believe it. The greens are running at 11.5 and they are very tricky with plenty of slopes. I typically play the blue (6300) or blended (6650) tees. My average round at Pinnacle is an 85, though my best is 74.

I'll be there on Sunday myself!  For Father's Day, one of my sons bought me 2 tickets for the final round.  I've never played Pinnacle, just driven by it many times...beautiful course!  Looking forward to watching some live women's golf...I've never had the chance to see the ladies tee it up.  Like Kyle, I'm excited and curious to see how well they hit it.

So my first observation is these girls really take a long time to hit the ball. Some taking 3-4 practice swings. I am a very fast golfer, so maybe I'll slow down a little and analyze the shot more to lower my scores.

      I'm not sure you're calculating the number of strokes you would need to give correctly. The way I figure it, a 6.9 index golfer playing from tees that are rated 70.8/126 would have a course handicap of 6. A 20-index golfer playing from tees that are rated 64/106 would have a course handicap of 11. Therefore, based on the example above, assuming this is the same golf course and these index & slope numbers are based on the different tees, you should only have to give 5 strokes (or one stroke on the five most difficult holes if match play) not 6. Regardless, I get your point...the average golfer has no understanding of how the system works and trying to explain it to people, who haven't bothered to read the documentation provided by either the USGA or the R&A, is hopeless. In any case, I think the WHS as it currently is, does the best job possible of leveling the playing field and I think most golfers (obviously, based on the back & forth on this thread, not all golfers) at least comprehend that.

      Yes it's true in a large sample like a tournament a bunch of 20 handicaps shouldn't get 13 strokes more than you. One of them will have a day and win. But two on one, the 7 handicap is going to cover those 13 strokes the vast majority of the time. 20 handicaps are shit players. With super high variance and a very asymmetrical distribution of scores. Yes they shoot 85 every once in a while. But they shoot 110 way more often. A 7 handicap's equivalent is shooting 74 every once in a while but... 86 way more often?
