I've heard a lot about tour pros talk about getting pumped up during the final stretch of a tournament. They say sometimes it cause them to hit there irons 3 clubs longer than normal. Have any of you experienced similar phenomena?

Sure have, I'd be playing real good and think this shot i'll put a little more back spin on the ball and end up hitting thirty yrds over the green.

A few times. This year during the first round of the club championship, it was one of those days where everything worked. On the 9th tee (par 5, 519yards) I hit hybrid off the tee, hybrid for my second shot and was on in two. I also played a 375 yard par 4 with 3 iron, pitching wedge and was on the fringe at the back of the green. Wish those were my true yardages but I will take them even if they are only every once and a while. Ended up shooting a 69 that day.

No, but I'm looking forward to one day being able to bit my irons 3 clubs more than normal. Adrenaline you say?

Although rare, I've had this happen. Mostly on the first hole or two of a big tournament. This is when the blood is flowing for me. For some reason, if I'm in the hunt coming down the stretch, I feel pretty calm. Probably because I know I've been playing well to be in this position.

In some ways,
golf adrenaline is different from adrenaline is say....running track.
in track you get adrenaline and you sprint the last 30 meters to win a race.
In golf, you have to bear down and focus one only one thing.golf.
You have to relax and put yourself in the "zone".
when you say "zone" i can relate, but i havent really had any adrenaline rushes while playing.
