I am looking for a good swing aid to bring to the dome this winter and would like to know what is the best swing aid to help with swing consistency??? I tend to be very inconsistent with my shots...some shots pulled, pushed, hooked, sliced.

my favorite swing aid is something called the swing sock, which goes over any iron and velcros over the face. basically all it is a weight but it helped me gain club head speed for distance, and due to the extra weight helped me get a better swing rhythm and swing path. i often get the club too flat and with the extra weight i cant do that, so swinging with that a few times helps me keep the club on the right plane.

Well I was thinking of buying something from the internet, but there are so many sites stating theirs is the best. Just looking for people who actually purchased something they really think helped their game.

If you're hitting the ball everywhere, the first step is to develope a more consistent path.
The most basic aid for this would be a heavy club. You can load up a shaft with sand and plug the butt end, or if you want to buy something, The Momentus works great. It also has a formed grip. Once you get a consistent path, then you can work on the clubface.

A very good swing aid is a video camera.

LOOK at what you are doing wrong. Most of the time you can see for yourself.

If you cannot see what's wrong.. Then put your video on a site like swingacademy

And someone else will tell you what you are doing wrong.

Technique is everything.

Mirror is a good and cheap method of working out where your inconsistencies are if you don't have the resources/access to a camera.

You could also try spending time on indoor launch monitors. It may take time to find an accurate/decent one though...

i am also looking to buy a swing aid for the winter. I am a 20 handicap and i dont have the same swing plane with my short irons and wedges, driver and long irons. I hit alot steeper with wedges and short irons than with long irons and woods. I dont think i can afford the leadbetter swing aid. Do you have any other suggestions on how to improve swing plane with all clubs. Maybe someone can explain how a heavy club or a bag of sand strapped to the club will help me improve swing plane.

Well I got my Ledbetter swing setter for $100 total including shipping. Check ebay out and you might be able to get them cheaper. I heard the heavy club does work because it forces you to be on the correct swing plane if you want to go a cheaper route...and maybe the same effectiveness. I will let you know how I like my Ledbetter club.
