I have a buddy raving about a book he bought on iBooks called The Golfer Mindset by Warren St. Peter. He boasted about how he was going to kick my butt when he passed through while on vacation. I know nothing about the book, but after the two rounds I managed to play with my buddy, I was astounded by the improvement in his performance. He was only gone for a month and the quality of his play was unbelievably improved.  Is there anyone that is aware of this book or can make comment on it? I believe iBooks lets you read parts of a book before purchase, but I will have to investigate that. I would appreciate any comments about the book or anything someone may have heard about it.

First welcome to The SandTrap.

I've never heard of this book before.

In the end the golfer needs to have a good golf swing to be a solid golfer. Could a golfer save strokes by changing how gameplan during a round yes. Maybe the book helped him stay calm and not press the issue on the course.

If you have a 30 handicap, you are not going to save a massive amount of strokes by reading a book on the mental part of the game.

Maybe it's a book to look into though. Thanks for bringing it to our attention.

I recently downloaded the book and admit it is a book that is going to create a bit of a paradigm shift in instruction, by creating an approach to golf development inclusive of the mental game. The book truly provides the means for any golfer to hone a mental approach to the game that results in rapid improvement. The golfer is left to create the mind state just like they would create and establish a swing. You can go to iBooks and review portions of the book for yourself, to make your own decision. I certainly do not regret the purchase. You will be intrigued by what you read.

Bingo.

I'm always surprised at how stupid people must think other people (myself especially) are.

Two first posts, both glowing about a book nobody's heard of. One says "I know you can read samples free online… I should do that…". Why haven't you?

Seriously, the only stupid ones here are @Ben Behr and @Kirk Witney .

Which, I will note for posterity… are the same person. So "stupid ones" should actually be singular.

Multiple accounts are not allowed here. I've banned @Kirk Witney and "Ben" this is your second chance. Follow the rules or be banned right along with your other account.

There are a lot of legitimate ways to promote your book. You chose the spammy, sleazy route. You chose to lie or be dishonest.

That's disappointing.
