I'm just the golf mom. My son is a 1.8. He plays 6 days a week at least, and plays on two different junior tours. His coach tweaked him about a week ago, I see his handi going up a bit for a few rounds till he actually grasps what his coach tweaked. Odd how that happens.

~disclaimer~ I'm just a golf mom.

I hate you all. OK hate may be a little strong. I want to join your club. I know what I need to do. Practice, practice, practice. I will make the time to do that soon. I am finally trying to do something about my biggest stumbling block. My job. Wish me luck.

I am a 0 handicap. My first handicap was a 16 about 11 years ago. I have been playing seriously about 3 years. I went from about a 10 to a 0 in that time.

I had one of those crappy no golf jobs. I finally quit and got a job that lets me enjoy some time off. Best thing I ever did. It doesn't pay quite as much but the family time and golf time I have now is much better than the few extra bucks.

I am 15 years old and I start play golf 3 years ago. When I touched a golf club, I knew that I loved this sport. The first year, I was playing with my friends for the fun of playing. But last year, I practice WAY more. I was on the course each 2-days. After school, I took my bike and went hit a couples of balls. I was playing around 84... When winter left ( I'm in Quebec ) I went at the range and I saw that my swing just disapeared. I wasn't able to hit the dawn ball! after 1 month of intense practice, it started to come back. I borrowed the Tiger How I Play Golf book at my library. WOW. I tried all what he says in his book and it helped me, I strongely recommend this book. Then I met the golf Professional at my home club. After a couple of sessions, I was hitting the ball purely. I shot my best game ever, a 71 , -1. He recommended me to buy knew irons, I had Taylor Made HT women clubs. They weren't appropriate. So I bought R7 Regular Flex 3-Gw irons. So i'm here today, oh yes, I forgot to tell you that I am a 8.5 handi.

My Oct index was 9.2 which was the first time into single digits. It was my goal for 2007.
My Nov index is 8.7

I've been a solid 10.9-11.0 for 2-3 years which crept down from the 12-14 range before that.

I started playing when I was in the military and 21 yoa. I don't think I ever really had a handicap of more then 12-14. I only shot in the 90's when I started keeping score around 5-10 times, have never shot in the 100's. The twelve month after I started playing golf I was a 7 handicap. However I had a club in my hands almost all day after work.

I would hit balls at the range and go home and putt in the house. I would tape golf and watch guys in slow motion to see where the club, and everything was at each part of the swing. LOVED golf and loved studying it. By the second year I was a 4, 3rd year I was a plus 2.

Got out of the military and got an assistant pro job, did that for 2 years and quit for 6 years. GOLF became work and was not enjoyable anymore. Plus the pace of play was horrible (but that is a different story in itself).

Just began playing again about 5 months ago. Have shot scores from 68-85. Only play 3-4 a month but am enjoying it again. My handicap at the course I keep it is a .1 instant and a 1 for the three out of 9-10 scores I have posted. I think it should be higher but it only has the three low scores.

THE EASIEST AND CHEAPEST way to knock 5 strokes off your game is chip and putt 1/2 hour a day for a month. YOU have to LOVE to practice also. I like hitting balls as much as playing the game. AT one point when I was in Korea and worked part time at the Golf course, I worked nights just so I could golf more. I was hitting 500-1000 balls a day. Can't do that anymore.
