I was wondering how those golfers living in seasonal states stay tuned up throughout the winter. I live just south of Oswego, NY. We got 144 inches of snow in seven days last year. Winter can be tough and its hard to maintain good golf form throughout, and trips to Golf Galaxy everyday might get a little bizzare. Any advice?

It's kinda aggrivating taking lessons in the winter because in a dome situation, you barely see any results within shot shaping. Sure, you can work on your setup and chipping off a mat but it's a whole different animal when you're in some Bermuda.

While Southwest Ohio doesn't get anywhere near 144 inches of snow like your area (hopefully that is), it does get cold here. Myself, I keep playing all year long; if the temperature gets around 40 degrees and the ground is clear, we play.

Also, about 5 minutes from me is a driving range with heated tees. Beats nothing. Oh, and much to the dismay of my wife...there's a whole lot of putting on the living room carpet.

I just hit the gym and do lots of stretching. I have a bad back so stretching is critical for me in the winter months, do some weights as well. As far as hitting balls is concerned, I dont even pick a club up until end of February, beginning of March.

I go to the dome once or twice a week and hit about 30 balls, only work on the swing and make sure I hit solid shot with a good turn.
Really doe's no good to go pound 90 balls with no reason other than to just be hitting the balls.

I plan on visiting the dome or heated practice tees, both within a couple of mile of my work. Also playing if its not too windy.

Multiple mentions of "domes" on this thread. Can anyone explain?

Inside driving range, a large inflated dome covering the range (set up in winter only). Here is a pic of the

one I'll go to.
