I am planning a week golf trip to St. George, Utah.   For those of you who live around there or been there for golf trips, can you help me what are my options?   What's the best time to go?   What should I budget for?   Things to do at evening after the golf?

Golf is fantastic in Southern Utah, St. George area. There are also many great courses just 20 minutes south in Mesquite, Nevada.         I used to travel there when I lived in Colorado and played during the winter months, for weekends and visit a golf buddy. Weather is   usually very favorable, with some windy days during the winter. Best months are usually fall and spring.

Golf rates vary during seasons, but most courses were reasonable. There's more entertainment at Casino's, live shows, restaurants in Mesquite. St. George offers good dining, scenic National Parks, but it's more of a retirement community.

There plenty of golf packages online with good deals.

I played St. George, UT / mesquite, NV last winter.    Best course I played in St. Georges is called Sand Hollow (actually in Hurrican, UT ... really good bbq restaurant about a mile from Sand Hollow on main street of town) - awesome scenery (bring your camera).    red rocks are amazing.   Not a cheap course - tee time around $100, but worth it.   There are a handful of courses in St. George - most are $50-75 typical courses, but Sand Hollow has the wow factor.

Plan on driving an hour south & playing a couple Mesquite, NV courses (Wolf Creek is the most famous, and by far the most scenic I've played).    That's about $140, but worth every penny.  Ridiculously good Mexican restaurant right off the exit in Mesquite hidden away in a small strip mall - highly recommended (and I don't even like Mexican food typically)

    • Not really, no. I don't know the history, what you've worked on, what you've tried and moved away from… etc.

    • Definitely not a favorite… For some reason my wife and I started watching Cobra Kai. I know the original was pretty cheesy, but the inability of these people to get over shit that happened like 30 years ago is astounding. And these kids would be arrested, but they don’t even seem to get suspended from school. Would Danny not notice that Johnny’s son looks like Johnny? Etc.? Why would a completely different dojo that has the same name be “banned”? Oy. Not sure we’ll make it to season 2.
    • Day 139 - 2025-02-16 Weather led to a rescheduled GEARS lesson, so I used the time to work on my swing for 60 minutes or so. All downswing stuff. Some swings at 93 MPH. Most around 75-80.
