What's the funniest thing you've seen during a round?

Recently I was playing a round of golf with a couple of friends.   So one of my friends was kind of struggling, and we got to a par 4 late in the round, and he goes to hit his tee shot, takes a huge swing, and his driver goes under the ball, barely making contact, popping the ball almost straight up in the air, about head high, and he reaches out and grabs it out of the air and immediately goes to tee up again as if nothing happened.   The rest of us about died laughing.

I seen tempers flare up over stupid stuff. Seen stuff in peoples back yards that were amusing. Seen some funny clothing being worn.

Funniest though was a guy in a foursome I was put with hitting on a UNLV coed who was earning some extra money as a a cart girl. He offered her some money to show off her chest. She looked at me and said "what do you think dad? Are my tits worth $50 a piece?" With a wink, I shook my head "no, that mom wouldn't approve". Freaked the guy out. The rest of the round his game was in the tank, as he kept apologising to me. His two friends were even quieter the rest of the round. I never did tell him I was not the young lady's father.

Years ago, I encountered wildlife at Fort Sill Golf Club in Lawton, OK.

The old layout of the course had two parallel holes (No. 15 and 16) that crossed Flipper's Ditch creek. We had just tee off on No. 15, and two deer came out of the trees and started grazing in the landing area. We drove by them, hit our approaches. While we were putting, the deer looked around and ran off.

As we later departed 16 tee, we heard a rustling down in the Ditch. Up jumps a large bobcat: trots towards us, sniffs the air, and then spins around and takes off in trace of the deer.

Never did learn the final outcome...

Hunters, can a bobcat take down an adult deer?

    • They sure do. 158 with an 8 iron is on the high end for me
    • Went back to controlling my knees. That part was getting a bit sloppy when I worked on my backswing. Right hip didn't slide or gain internal rotation. I would just rotate back and around and the left knee would be in a bad spot. Really focusing now on keeping my left knee very stable and straighter in the backswing. I can't go back to the old pattern of overturning the hips. I was returning to my old pattern to time my downswing. Turn forever.  Left knee controls both knees and hips, acting as an anchor. Feel like it straightens a bit.   Hinge sooner and faster. Not in a way that sends the hands out and flips the club over. I still noticed when the hands get to A2.5, the hands would want to flip over and flatten the club out a ton.  Still trying to figure out how to roll the forearms a bit open and not just roll the club inside a ton.  Figure out the timing to get the hands down. Still getting a bit of right elbow collapsing in the downswing because the arms are too high when I turn. Everything is happening sooner now. If the hips are controlled, the backswing is shortened. Because it is shortened I don't know when to get the hands down and I just turn because the downswing is a go.  Very slow (50%) swings are decent.
    • Distances look fine, no?
    • Day 207-12 Wider backswing and arm reconnecting in downswing. Did a much better job with proper wrist movements through downswing today.
    • Trackman place today. I broke my tripod so could only film by hand the video the venue’s cameras generated. This is an 8 iron. Amazing how odd this feels relative to how it looks. Not similar!
