A couple of questions regarding rules

1. How many clubs are you allowed to take round with you during a round?
2. Are you allowed two of the same type of club? e.g. a normal driver and an oversize driver

There is no reason that you would want anything more than one driver in the bag. The goal would be to find a reliable swing and a driver that allows you to hit the ball in the fairway and stick with it.

As far as I know all of your clubs could be drivers (which would be hilarious to look at) or 14 putters for that matter...

I know a few people who have more than one driver in their bag, I do not know why. I knew someone who didn't have a driver (he had broken both it and his putter, and has now replaced both).

I was also unsure of how many clubs you are allowed. Thanks for your help.

Anyway,he is quite correct erik.14 is the maximum for use in competition (ask Ian Woosnam ) and in 99.9999% of circumstances it would be considered quite "unsavoury" to turn up with more than that in a friendly............

How about 14 "Perfect Club"s? I guess Peter Kessler hasn't thought about that. He could shoot 59 with 14 of them babies!

I actually carry two drivers, sometimes. One is about a 30-year-old TaylorMade metal and the other is the big Callaway. That little metal driver is, basically, like a lot of the fat, utility irons today. I keep kind of changing back and fourth between it and a gap wedge.
