Hello!

I have a putter that I wondering about this insert / grooves are they okej? Affect such properties of this putter? How to keep good condition on a putter like this? Before I had a putter that doesn't had a insert like that.

I would check the Nike website. If I recall correctly, the insert is a polymer. I would just clean with water and dry immediately.

It seems to be satin chrome finish.  How about that and the flaws?

Those look like mild scratches. I would not worry about them.

They're not flaws; they're just character!

The grooves are Nike's Polymetal thing, which they argue is a balance between a milled face (think Scotty Putters) and an insert (think Odyssey White Hots) in terms of feel. Like boogie said, just wash it with soapy water when you find it's not to your liking. Make sure you don't make a stroke with any dirt caught on the face; that's when the abrasions happen. A little grass residue from a putt from the fringe is mostly harmless though.

Now I could blame on the putter if the rounds goes bad? ;D

You mean as long the middle area is good so I dont have to think about the rest of the putter?

So you mean if Scotty had inserts like this on thier putters so I shouldnt be worry if sure to clean the ball before I use the putt?

So the speed and the force in this putter is not affected by this?

I'm not sure I understand what you meant. I was just using Scotty Cameron as a representative example of a putter that tends to go with a strictly milled face and no insert.

What I meant if you mark  and clean the ball before to putt so it is no danger?

I was thinking if a manufacturer as Scotty make their clubs in this way so they should think about that insert can be affected so they make in a material that isn't sensitive? Do you understand what i trying to say? It is well that with other clubs. It is of course the blemishes and scratches on the Club comes with time. But it doesn't affect the shot with the club? I Wondering if its same on putters?

I don’t have to feel like I have to keep the face open throughout the entire downswing. The swing feels much more free-flowing through impact. Difference in ball flight is that previously it would be a low to mid trajectory that starts straight and draw left, or slight pulls. New ball flight are high push draws.  It’s kind of stupid. I feel like it should slice off the planet. I look up and it’s maybe a slight push. 🤣 Some distant wedge feels. More weight on front foot. Keep weight on front foot.  Pivot around left knee. Solid contact all the time.

    • Day 2:  I hit a bucket of balls this morning.  Not gonna lie, almost didn’t go since it was my first time going alone and it was a little intimidating.  I mostly hit with my driver (the last bit of balls was with my 7 iron).  The sun was in my face but I think the ones that had good contact with went the furthest yet (maybe 150 yards then a good roll?).  Once I switched to my 7, the first half of my balls were crap.  I’ve always hit my irons before my driver when practicing and done fine - does this make any difference or is it just because I’m so green?
    • It's likely per "category" of clubs, so irons would be one category, wedges would be a category, driver a category, fairway woods/hybrid a category, etc. They aren't going to charge you $50 per iron for a fitting. Almost all iron fittings are done with like a 6 or 7 iron, fitters don't carry full sets of every iron. So yes, if you use a 7 iron for the fitting and let's say you get fit into the P790 with a certain shaft, 1 degree flat and .5" longer than normal you would just order the full set of P790s with that shaft/lie angle/length combination and you'll be perfectly fine.
