Currently, 10 more on the European Tour than the US.  Weird, the uptick for the US in 2012 and 2011.

PGA Tour:

  • 2016: 34
  • 2015: 25
  • 2014: 25
  • 2013: 13
  • 2012: 21
  • 2011: 21
  • 2010: 12
  • 2009: 13

Almost every pro golfer has a 300 yard stick.  I'm guessing the euro tour has wider fairways or less trouble near the landing zone so the guys are able to hit driver more often over there.

I just took the time to find some players, which are listed on both tours. First stat is the PGA Tour driving distance, second one is the Euro Tour's

Rory McIlroy - 309.9 vs 300.8

Sergia Garcia - 297.4 vs 303.1

Charl Schwartzel - 295.5 vs 304.9

Brendan Grace - 297.8 vs 303.6

So 3 out of 4 people are a few yards longer on the Euro Tour. Obviously, this is a very restricted sample size.

An additional point I forgot to mention:

Note that on both tours, only 2 holes are used for the driving distance stat (facing in opposite directions to counter the wind). If the people creating these stats are smart, I would assume that they choose holes where players are most likely to hit driver, so this would be counter argument to @Tee2Trees

The US bumps could be course or weather related (courses at altitude, downhill landing zones, or wet fairways affecting runout).

Wouldn't the Euro courses played on links style turf lead to longer roll?
